And putting the scale‘s notes in to the negative timeline and folding it is a workflow-killer, imo.
Oops, just noticed you already referred to the method I described. Anyway, I completely agree with the need for this feature!

Re: MIDI Editor Scale mode

+1 You can do a workaround by drawing in all notes of a scale in one beat and then selecting the Fold button. Easiest way is to draw notes on only the white keys, which is C major / A minor. To generate a different scale select all the notes and move them up or down to line up with the starting poin...

Re: Most important Instruments/Plugins that PROs use often?

I’m not a pro at all, but to answer the question regarding what plugin can be used to create any sound you can imagine.. Look at u-he Zebra. Wow, phenomenal synth that has a lot of depth and has been used for sound design on movies. Just be prepared to go deep down the rabbit hole of learning to pro...

Re: Still a newbie after 2 years

I recommend going to ask.video and signing up for a 1 month subscription. Cancel it before the month renews. I also don’t have time to dive deep into a course, and found their videos to be a quick way to find guidance. It may not be possible to have a template that gives you good sound quality in th...

3. Press Cmd/Ctrl-K and you can map any on screen button to a key of your choice. It won’t let you replicate everything, but it goes a long way towards customizing the key commands. 4. The tutorials at http://ask.video are comprehensive and excellent. It’s well worth paying for a 1 month membership ...

Re: Live keyboard shortcut stickers for PC ?

Maybe not exactly what you are looking for, but here is a nice looking Windows keyboard that has Ableton shortcuts on it. Backlit and comes in wired and wireless versions. I have one of their keyboard covers and the quality is excellent.

Thank you [jur] and ecuk. This is the information I was looking for. I will look into the C SDK and the full version of Max for Gen further.

Source Code Based Audio Block

I’m new to M4L so pardon any ignorance. I’d like to make a custom audio processing block made using source code. I’ve written several DSP algorithms in C, C++, Matlab, and Python and would like to create my own block. Does M4L have the capability to do this? I see the gen~ block, but can’t figure ou...

Are you sure that isn't Alt-Space? At least in macOS it seems to be.
Yes, it is indeed Alt-Space for macOS. On Windows it is Ctrl-Space.

Re: Position on track reflected on position in Clip View

I am constantly getting lost. Every time I see something to edit (in Arrangement view), placing the selector (the Insert Marker) in Arrangement view, Live doesn't place the same marker in the Clip View. It takes a lot of time to find the correct position. The only way is to start playback, AND in t...

+1. At least, add a “do not show this again” checkbox to the message.
