Re: Pitch shifting a Reverb

Add a reverb plugin to the audio track. Right click on it's title bar and select "group" to form a rack with a chain in it. I suggest re-naming the chain "reverb". Open up the chain and insert a pitch shifter in front of the reverb. Set the reverb plugin 100% wet. That chain is your wet reverb signa...

Re: "External Audio Effect" - has no Record button! why?

If you route the track's audio out into another audio track that destination track will have a record button.

Re: Creating fully editable live dj mix inc headphone cue control

If not having the absolutely lowest latency possible isn’t going to create problems one solution would be to create an aggregate audio device (in the Mac’s Audio/MIDI Setup app) by combining the interface and the Mac’s built-in audio. It should then be possible to send one set of Live outputs to the...

Re: Select Dante DVS Input/Output device problem

There is no need to aggregate audio devices on a Mac to use multiple audio devices in Live 10. Macs don’t have Window’s or ASIO’s designed-in limitations on using multiple audio interfaces. Live’s help says of Macs: “On Mac it is possible to choose different interfaces as Input and Output device in ...

If you've not already done so updating to OS 10.14.5 might help.

Re: Control volume of an external synth

It might well be possible to control the volume of the synth by using MIDI CCs. You’ll need to check the synth manual because they do vary, but volume is most often either CC7 or CC11.

It seems that Thesys is a midi sequencer/generator, but I think it's not capable of playing sequences from files, am I right?
No, Thesys doesn't play already existing MIDI files/clips.

Your best option for that purpose is to use session view as has been suggested.

Thesys by Sugar Bytes might be the kind of thing you’re looking for. One of the best software sequencers, at least I think so.

Re: Ableton 10 + MAC: Drag & Drop problem

Which audio file formats?

I've not (yet?) had a problem dragging in wav, aif, m4a or mp3 files.

Live 10.1, OS 10.14.5.

Re: best mac os for 9.7.7 or 10.x, M4L, push2

Live 10.1 + the latest Mojave update are working very well for me (2015 MBP Retina).

The initial Mojave release caused some problems for some USB audio on 2018 Macs with the T2 chip but Apple seem to have fixed that with OS updates.

Re: Adjustments for SSD Drives

I keep sample libraries and Lives’ library, user library etc. on an SSD because of the fast seek times.

I use another SSD for projects. And the MacBook’s internal drive for software, plugins etc.

Re: Adjustments for SSD Drives

Other than 128GB is maybe a bit on the small size, no adjustments of any kind are needed. They're just faster, quieter and draw less power than HDDs and that's it.

For something a bit less technical and more readable try this: https://www.sweetwater.com/insync/midi-essential-guide/ The Wikipedia entry for MIDI is also useful: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIDI And for the deep end there's https://www.midi.org If you've any questions, don't be afraid to ask. Re: Massive X - Massive F (Up)?

Not got Massive, but it might/should be possible to move any folder to where you want it to be using junction points (Windows) or aliases/symbolic links (Mac). These all work at the OS/file system level so the application should see the folder/file as being where it expects to be even if it's somewh...

Re: MIDI devices lose connection

I’ve a lot more MIDI stuff than that connected to an MBP. Two connections to my RME UFX and another 7 or 8 through a couple of hubs, one of which is powered. Your problem might be that you’ve two many devices connected that use USB power and you’ve exceeded what the USB spec says is the maximum amps...
