Re: Song sounds perfect in ableton but exported it sounds bad ):

Psychoacoustics can throw all kinds of weird tricks at us. It’s amazing how much difference a pretty small change in volume can make our brains think the louder version of a track sounds “better” than the quieter one. A trick used by less than scrupulous hi-fi/audio visual tech sales people is to de...

Re: Recently recorded tracks not lining up in Logic X

There’s no instant solution to the timing issue. Logic has the ability to alter the timing of audio. It’s called “flextime” and instructions for using it are in the Logic manual under the heading “Edit the timing of audio”. It works quite well, though it can be a slow and fiddly process. Like any ti...

Re: Looper Sync Problem (Ongoing Issue)

30+ms of input latency @256samples is HUGE. The image for a 32 sample buffer is barely any less than that, 25.5ms. I don’t use UAD stuff so can’t really comment on how to set it up, but for some reason at 32 samples the input latency Live reports is up to around ten times what it should be for the ...

Re: Multiple hardware synths

Connect both synths to Live and enable them in MIDI in/out preferences. Create a MIDI track in Live. Set the MIDI track input to the synth with a keyboard. Set the track monitoring options to “in” so the synth reacts as you play. Set the track output to the other synth and whichever MIDI channel the...

Re: Mac for Abelton

A quad (or more) core i7 or i9 is going to be a lot better than an i5 or dual-core i7. I doubt lack of RAM is going to be causing crashes - but you can of course check how much RAM and cpu is being used in activity monitor. I used PC DAWs for nearly 20 years and have also used Macs for years. Window...

Re: latency is getting bigger and smaller

It might be worth trying disconnecting the Behringer interface, launching a new project with no plugins in it and seeing what happens if you use the Mac’s on-board sound. If latency is stable using that then the problem would seem to be the Behringer (or its driver). If latency using the Mac sound c...

Re: Waves plugins

Once in a while, when I get sufficiently irritated at searching multiple Waves shells for a plugin, I restore sanity by uninstalling all my Waves stuff then reinstalling it.

Re: Ableton Live 10 Suite: Midi Keyboard and Latency

For whatever reason I lost track of this thread. My fault. Now, I have done an exact duplicate of the Live settings in the post that started this discussion. New project, only thing loaded in it being Keyzone Classic. Live reports that plugin has zero "built in" latency for what that's worth. Comput...

Re: Ableton problems sending program change on ch 11, 13

I've just run a test sending bank and program changes from Live 10.0.6 on all 16 channels to external hardware and a vst synth and everything seems to be working as expected. MIDI CCs seem fine on all channels as well. I vaguely remember Live 8 seemed to have problems with MSB/LSB and 14 bit MIDI bu...

Re: Unusual Fan speed when using Kontakt

I've the same generation MacBook Pro (i7 Retina), mine has Intel graphics and is running Mojave and Live 10, though I don't use Kontakt. The gpu seems to take a big hit when running Live, resulting in the fan speeding up and lower audio performance. I found the suggestion here, which is basically lo...

Re: Direct Monitoring with reverb with 2048 sample hardware buffer size

My 2015 2.2GHz i7 macbook and RME UFX reliably monitors 12 inputs @44.1KHz, 24 bit with a 64 sample buffer with several delays, modulation plugins and reverbs running. But I don’t use lots of demanding software synths and avoid latency increasing or resource intensive plugins until I’ve got the trac...

Can MIDI mapping the clips to the computer keyboard with all the clips mapped to trigger from the same key do the job?

Re: Desktop Window Manager GPU Problem

This might be relevant, it’s for Macs but it should be possible to create an options.txt file for Live in Windows.

Re: Direct Monitoring with reverb with 2048 sample hardware buffer size

i would be thinking "hardware reverb unit"... So would I. I don’t know if the MTC has the necessary inputs and outputs to patch a hardware reverb into the vocal foldback chain, but if not feeding the MTC monitor/headphone out into a hardware reverb and setting the voice/reverb balance in the reverb...

The Faderfox PC12 MIDI controller might be worth a look.
