Re: Lives sound engine argument again ...

Live has a bad name because the standard mode of operating is that every audio loop always gets time stretched Nope. Only in complex or complex pro mode. All other warp modes will not affect your loops as long as you don't change the tempo. Doing this phase canceling tests and claiming the results ...

Re: Help needed: Cubase 5 rewire slave to Ableton

Dunno how stable that is, but if you have a Mac you could try to sync both apps with Midi Clock and use Soundflower from www.cycling74.com for the audio connection.

Doesn't work. The big players do not support being a slave.

Re: FFF ;-) - Is Live 8 really worse than 7 and 6?

Live 8 is running as good as all previous versions for me. I'm on OS X 10.5.8 (Mac Pro and Macbook Pro), Live 8.0.4, Sylenth1, some NI plugs, UAD1 and UAD2, RME Fireface 400, lots of external MIDI hardware. I'm happy. Reported some bugs during the Live 8 beta stage. Upgraded to 8 about a month ago. ...

Re: Any news on a stable live 8 yet?

Jumped on the train with 8.0.3. (I NEVER buy the first release of ANY software or hardware). Found a little glitch with my Korg MicroKontrol (bank switching would not work). Reported it. They fixed it in 8.0.4. No crashes so far. I am a happy chap.

Re: Announcing Mod271!

Ok I've switched it to allow 1st gen iPhones and iPods, it takes forever for anything to update in iTunes so just wait for it to show up. Please let me know how it runs on the 1st gen hardware, if the performance is terrible people will start complaining and I'll have to change it back but it's wor...

Re: Announcing Mod271!

Rarelyseen: I'm not sure if it's compatible with the 1st gen iPods, I've only got an iPhone and iPod touch (both 2nd gen) to test with. I would imagine that it would work on the 1st gen stuff but probably would suffer a bit in the performance department. Uh oh how I wish I could try it anyway. :rol...

Re: Announcing Mod271!

Hi Chris, the app store said it's only compatible with the iPhone. Any chance for iPod Touch users?

Edit: iPod Touch seems to be compatible, but only 2nd generation. What a bummer!

Re: Price of Upgrade to Live 8

Ableton is a business right? They're not your best buddy or something. You got it. In a business world, they do the pricing, you pay it. If it's too expensive, you go for something else. You decide if the price fits for you or not. I used to drive a good German car which I bought new. Loved it unti...

Re: Price of Upgrade to Live 8

One of my strongest memories of attending an Ableton workshop was Robert Henke responding to a question about open-sourcing live with a response something like: "Whilst Ableton is a progressive company, it is run with a very conservative business model." (Not a direct quote - the workshop was just ...
