Yes, I understand what it is, and I'm certainly not whining. I have no interest in buying such a thing; why should I whine? I'm highly skeptical of the idea. There's a difference between scoffing and whining. What I'm saying is that it strikes me as a ridiculously priced "gee whiz" gizmo that doesn'...

One thing to watch out for -- thieves KNOW the big "brand names" and what gets carried in them (laptops, cameras, video gear, et cetera). If you haul expensive stuff around, it can be a good idea to do so in a carrier that doesn't cry out "steal me! I contain valuables you can fence!" I'm probably g...

Might be good to try a third host (a demo maybe?) and see which is the "odd man out."

One possibility: Does FL have a transpose option or something like that?

It's also the first beta with language choices. Previously we could choose from "Without Japanese" and... well, nothing else. :-)

It's not what you want, but I can't resist mentioning that my first PC was suitcase-style... The mighty HYPERION! Not one but TWO floppy drives! Oooo... http://oldcomputers.net/hyperion.html :-D (No, I did NOT pay $4995.00 for it. The boss gave me a unit that had been brought in broken and I fixed i...

All I can add is: If you can't afford more than 1 gig of RAM, get 1 gig now and make sure there are enough slots left over to add another gig later. IOW, if it comes with four slots, all of which are filled with 256-meg SIMMs, you'll have to sacrifice two of them to add two more 512-megs, etc. I nea...

This is getting ridiculous!!! Not ridiculous at all. People are giving you the benefit of their good advice, which is: Don't distort or color your sound when you record; add effects afterward, to full-fidelity recordings. A related question for all you DJs out there: I want to match the tempos of a...

Sooo... let me get this straight: for just a few hundred dollars (imagined future price) I can replace a few centimeters' mouse motion and clicks on icons on a desktop / in a dock / in a quick-launch bar with... erm, several times as much paw motion and a poke at a keytop? =9_9= To the manufacturer:...

But that has been like that for more then 10 days.
Simple explanation: those particular two days haven't got here yet. :-}

I'd think an iPod would be a very expensive way of doing that. I haven't made the comparison but it seems to me that a plain old USB or Firewire external drive would cost far less, have a LOT more capacity, and be much faster. If it's not hard to get external drives in Argentina, I'd recommend using...

Okay, I'll go back on my word and post this much more. draff, sorry if I came off as a bit miffed there. :-) Beg pardon. I agree that it's okay to ask for a gimme. But I don't think it would be right for the Abes to provide it, as that would a) open the floodgates to more and more demands, and b) ta...
