Re: Realistic snare rolls?

Ghost or grace notes :)
Do a search and you'll find plenty of tutorials on youtube of how to create those kinds of snare patterns.

Re: How to make things louder in the Mix

Firstly, here is a link to "Yep's" Mixing guide on the reaper forums.... http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=29283 I don't think I could describe it better than Yep has and it is a great resource :) Have a good read through that and it will get you on the right path to creating a great mix, wit...

Re: House music clap

There are a few claps in the drumrack presets I believe.
So find a couple you like, then try layering clap sounds or using a very very small delay to give them a bit of a flam.

Re: Sampling/resampling?

Cut the loop you want to 2 bars, then use splice to midi and one of the settings in there should put each hit in a drumrack for you to play as you like :)

Re: Looper and Global Transport

What about doing it arrangement view and having preset loop marker points? Not sure if this would work for what you need, just throwing it out there as I am almost sure I've heard of this sort of thing being done before.

Re: Can't Afford Live 9 Suite

I tend to hold off until last minute to upgrade. That said, with the amount of new software that I have and the frequency of upgrades, it could become extremely expensive. I've now started to hold back unless there is some serious deal. As an early adopter, I have previously spend the first 3-6month...

Re: re up of live 9 video!!

Now adding my 2 pennies worth. Having used Cubase for years and been through their upgrades (always buggy, introduce loads of crap features and useless gimmicks) I love the fact that Ableton put so much emphasis on quality, usability, stability and workflow. There's nothing worse than working on a ...

Re: Problem with clip quantization

Set clips you are attempting to launch to no quantization, unless you are worried about this all the time and then the only way to do it would be to just have a stereo mixdown of your main backing and then just improvise with smaller loops and samples over the top in a 1 hit sort of fashion.

Re: Trying to love Ableton but it's crushing me :P

Cheers mate, currently having a cuppa on me dinner break from work, will get back to it later this evening and hopefully get it sorted. Got a mini jam tomorrow with the drummer to sort through percussion pieces and sequences, would love to have it sorted by then.

Thanks again mate.

Re: Trying to love Ableton but it's crushing me :P

This is a new laptop, never really played with live much previously but now getting used to it I would like to make use of it, but this also means that I require the plugins that I would normally use when recording in the studio for live performance. Never tried the plugins in any other version of a...

Re: Trying to love Ableton but it's crushing me :P

All files so far, even when put in individually have caused live to crash and require removal of the preferences file and reload.
This is why I asked if I should install the vsts and its associated program files outside of thier intended location in the main c:program files and c:program files x86

Re: Trying to love Ableton but it's crushing me :P

Having already tried what you have suggested, re- creating another folder, i've kinda come to a dead end, will have to get a report sent off to ableton. With regards to installing plugins on win7 64bit systems. Should I install my main programs and such in the suggested folders (i.e program files\na...
