Trying to love Ableton but it's crushing me :P

Why oh why can I not get live to scan my plugin folder without crashing? It contains all 32bit native instruments, nothing from any other developers, I've tried removing and putting one in at a time, moved folder to My Documents also to see if change of folder location would help out. Running out of...

Ableton crashing on scanning of vst, need help plz

I'm currently having issues getting ableton v8.2.6 scan vst custom plugin folder without hard crashing. Leaving live to linger in the memory and require a reboot just to get it to release audio drivers. I have a selection of instruments from the native instruments komplete collections and require so...

Re: Sending vocals with the stereo outs when performing live

What we are currently doing is sending 4 mono feeds to front of house, these are split before they get there so that we can have our own monitoring capabilities. We also have another track which is just a custom click for each song, this is not routed to front of house, only to in-ears. This allows ...

Re: Crashing with the Launchpad

Other than avoid dragging clips from session to browser, or perhaps wiping the preferences file, i'm not sure lol.

Really should spend more time working on it but in a bit of a funk at the mo, so gonna chill n watch a film or something :)

Re: Crashing with the Launchpad

Spent most of my time sorting out the monitoring for the rest of the band >..< only problem with being the techy nerd also lol. For what I used of it, it worked well, some things I noticed that I would have to work around or work a different way for live use, but so far so good. I've messed about wi...

Problem with Native Instruments plugins not scanning/crashin

Installed a few NI synths from my komplete collections, only to find that I'm unable to use them in live. Firstly live won't scan them, it will lock up the program requiring reboot to free up Ableton, boot up, remove pref file in roaming...then I can load Ableton again without the vst custom folder....

Re: Novation Launchpad Controller Help!!

Sounds silly, but did you check it was selected as a controller device in ableton? Otherwise it doesn't show any lights.

When I have mine plugged in and nothing running on laptop, there are NO lights active on it.

Re: Crashing with the Launchpad

Made use of the launchpad the other day, gave it a good work out. 6hours running random clips and hitting buttons, 1 hour with ableton on and launchpad powered up via usb with nothing running at all, program didn't stall when I started to play about with it again. Seems like it was pretty stable. Wi...

Re: MIDI Latency and sound "crackles"

Best suggestion I could offer up is to pick up a better outboard sound card, USB2 or Fire wire (if you have fire wire with a TI chipset) I've only just started running ableton 8 on my new lappy, I've currently got my Audio interface sample rate for my Ableton files at 24bit 48 sample rate. This so f...

Re: Mastering & Live Performance

Nemoy, just wanted to say that I really enjoyed those video's on your youtube channel. Especially "Everybody loves red clay" I'm a sucker for that old sound lol.
Would be interested in hearing how you run your setup live. If i've not already missed it in another thread on a video (best I go check)

Any good ableton tutorials or hands on seminars (UK/Wales)?

Having just bought a new Lappy and with the band now heading out to start jamming, I was wondering if anyone here knows of decent tutorials, other than the obvious one's on youtube or better still, hands on seminars somewhere in the south of UK? I have a hard time following some of the one's i've se...

Re: Crashing with the Launchpad

Tried my launchpad out for first time tonight, seemed great for about 30mins, then suddenly it stopped responding....later the effects in what was an extremely small new live project, started to glitch and distort. Hope this isn't the tale of things to come, only just got brand new lappy, already a ...

Re: lots of crashes since upgrade to 8.2.6

Can you test something for me please? I created an loop, then broke it into 8 parts, added follow actions. Once I was complete with this I selected all and attempted to copy them into the library via the browser on the left hand side. When I dropped the files in the folder in the library, live had u...

Re: Propellerheads "Name Your Own Price" upgrade...thoughts?

Having already got reason 5 and record, we will probably stump up for the upgrade, mainly as it's 64bit :) not that ableton can make much use of that but I also use Sonar x1 so it will be handy to make use of for recording purposes atleast. That said, one thing i'm not happy about is the need for th...
