Re: IMAGINE IF LIVE COULD FIRE VIDEO CLIPS FROM SESSION VIEW

Max for Live then, can't wait. I think it'll open up the creative field, being able to treat video clips like samples, as opposed to just having video supporting music at shows. I know you can link VDMX (VJ program) to speak to Live's session view, to match video clips to audio clips. Also, Coldcuts ...

IMAGINE IF LIVE COULD FIRE VIDEO CLIPS FROM SESSION VIEW

My next dream wish for Live would be the ability to chop up video clips, place them in session view and still have them
outputing to the monitor (i.e. external monitor for projection) while jamming them in the session view.

Re: For all of you into live, tightly intergrated AV gigs

Still working at integrating scratching video.
Got MS PINKY for that and currently experimenting with it. I know that VDMX and MS PINKY will speak to each other.
But as a standalone program, MS PINKY is designed for scratching visuals.

Re: For all of you into live, tightly intergrated AV gigs

Hi two_masks, We're running the main show off Ableton Live which syncs with VDMX (A VJ program), so clips fired in session view fire respective video clips in VDMX. The effects in Live are also sync'd to visual effects in VDMX (so at times when you see the APC knob twiddled, both the video and sound...

For all of you into live, tightly intergrated AV gigs

Apart from my solo stuff, I'm part of a wickedly cool AV outfit called "Krushed & Sorted" Here is footage of a live gig we did recently. It's edited (by the vj, Grrrl) so you get an idea of what went down. props to Fletcher, who initiated and did most of the work you see and hear. lemme know if any ...

Re: Projecting Video from Ableton for gig's

Here's some pics of my wife (Grrrl) and I (Mr Sakitumi)gigging. She VJ's using VDMX,a controller and the Korg Kaoss Entrancer (for video) All the stuff is composited in After Effects. For this gig she used 3 screens, 1 main one behind us and 2 smaller ones on each side. The white cloth over the fron...

Re: District 9

I must say, most of the movies of this genre are shot elsewhere in the world. Saw the trailer last week and I must say I'm pretty excited to see it. D9 is shot in my home country (South Africa), so watching the trailer with all the local accents and scenery is quite interesting for me. (So used to N...

Re: Video Mixing Software Suggestions

Check out VDMX. I know someone who has managed to link clips in session view with video clips in VDMX (on the same MBP). So that a specific video clip triggers with an audio clip in session view (VJAMM style). He's managed to also link some of the video effects, with an audio effect in LIVE. e.g. wh...

Do you create a new library for 8 or use 7's?

Just got Live 8 suite (download) and busy installing it. Live asks if I want to create a new library for 8, or use current library (which is 7's) How badly can it affect tracks I've done in 7 if I install to it, Just in case I need to resort back to 7 if stability issues really bug me with the curre...

Re: Need a new audio interface.

+1 for Audio Kontrol. rock solid, great sounding and very small footprint.
It's half the size of my MOTU Ultralite.
I use the AK1 out and about, and for gigs.
It's been pretty reliable so far.
Even if I didn't have my MOTU, I'd still be really happy with it.

Re: APC40 should show empty scenes, but doesn't?

You could always add a several dummy tracks to the far right of your set in session view (even label them "BLANKS" or something?).
Then place 5 dummy clips descending on the furthest right track between your sets.
You'd never need to see them, but they should provide you with the visual gap needed.
