I agree with that : transitions, evolutions, small variations are crucial in making music (at least the kind of music I love) interesting, and the Daft punk are not always the best for this. Some of their pieces are true (and conscious) exercises in radical dancing boringness with a filter added (th...

But they are nevertheless one of the most important and influential projects in the world of Electronic music. Can someone explain this more fully for me? Did Daft Punk pioneer anything? If so, what? If you cannot understand and appreciate what they brought to us, there is something about techno th...

It's OK to be bored by the Daft Punk. . That's not a problem, you can live without this. But they are nevertheless one of the most important and influential projects in the world of Electronic music. And you cannot change that. If you cannot understand and appreciate what they brought to us, there i...

I've learnt a lot of things from this book.

The chapters about sound programming are really good. But even in the weaker chapters, lots of useful tricks.

+1000 for audio overdub.

I suppose that's a difficult feature to include (Live was not invented for this), but it would open tons of possibilities !

My miniprojekt

Hello. I've worked on such a project a few months ago. The big part was to organize a template that would suit my needs. I ended up with a template including - A dozen tracks with instruments and effects preaffected (beats, basses, etc...) - For each track, I assigned the record/start/stop/mute and ...

I have the same problem of losing MIDI control since I upgraded to 6.0.7, in a Windows XP environment.

This happens with the Trigger Finger as well as with my Faderfox or my UC33.

Systematically, after 5 minutes into a liveset.

Do Live6 improved effects sound different ?

Just wondering : is there any difference in sound between Live 5 and Live 6 effects ?

I know some of them have been "improved" (eq4 became eq8, saturator and utility have changed a little, and the filter has also been tweaked)

Can this result in any change of sound for an old Live 5 project ?

Hello Abletons
Never listen to this advice and Never compete with the other sequencers by imitating them.

Live is unique and should stay so. Your concept is great and you can dig it further without becoming just another mainstream sequencer !

Multiple soundcards support

Add to Live the possibility to direct the output to several soundcards, this would be great for mixing, controlling and improving live sound.

Bank/Program changes for Impulse, Operator and Simpler

this would be GREAT ! Changing the sounds/sets/presets directly from a knob on my midi controller would save me many tracks and transform Live into a true musical instrument.
