I often create envelope fades at the beginning/end of clips that pop when looping, as well as the above suggestions..

I use the Novation X Station.. I paid 180euros new for it in a 'summer sale' about 5 years ago... still going strong, no issues what so ever.. You can get them really cheap now second hand.. Hd Started with a X-Station 25 close to 5 years ago as well to getting better grips on synthesis. Pretty sol...

I do a bunch of direct guitar input into reverbs and delay and looper. To then capture these abstract layered loops and use Melodyne to convert to midi notes is just incredible actually. Nina.. a little 'tip'... put a 'utility' plug on your tracks and automate the 'gain' on that, rather than the track level faders.. It will give you ability to change overall volume levels without messing with your automation.. ;)
