Re: The Maschine & Ableton Love Thread ;) [upon user request]

I got nothing but love for them. Haters gonna hate anyway. They're both indispensable tools in my arsenal.

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

I can say this though..quite objectively Mascine is PERFECT and ONLY match for it's software.. both were designed to match.. and this gives it more of an 'instrument feel' Yup. There's never been quite anything like it before where the computer software and the hardware controller become one with e...

Re: Activate arrangement record from push

I am really surprised that activating the arrangement record was not written into Push's script! How hard could that be??? And what an obvious part of a basic Live workflow. Build up a number of clips in session view, then record your performance of the clip launching into arrangement. Thats kind o...

Re: midi sequencing

This is a workaround (just checked it): create a drumracktrack, deactivate the drumrack manually (or mute the track). create a second miditrack, activate midi in, set Input to drumracktrack 1, Pre FX. Load your Preset or route it to your outboard gear. Now go back to your track with the drumrack, a...

Re: NI Komplete 9 - Worth Upgrading from Komplete 7?

I am on the fence, I picked up K8 upgrade last year....for less money. This one also includes The Grand - piano as well as what was mentioned. They state 33 instruments....I only see 3 additions + maybe some FX stuff (Grand, Monark, Battery 4). So I am not sure. I would need to see a comparison bet...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

For me, I bought Maschine first on a whim, then Live 8/9 Suite and I am very happy with the combo. I don't really need Suite to be honest, Standard would have done but I do love Maschine. Would I have bought Push had it been available? I dunno. I own a solid keyboard controller that Im already dece...

Re: Push and Native Instruments

choosing presets via live/push would be great, but playing notes and manipulating parameters is most necessary. Push has no parameter automapping for third party plugins in general (unless it has 32 parameters or less), not just NI plugins. You can use the configure feature beforehand but the mappi...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

2. Maschine supports Komplete 8O . I think that speaks for itself.... any daw supports Komplete as long as you have HD space. What yur2die4 means is that Maschine has exclusive support for Komplete where all presets from all of Komplete can be browsed and loaded directly from the Maschine hardware ...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

I have a APC40, Impulse 25, Electribe MX, KP3, and some other hardware synths. Making beats on the Impulse's pads is a PITA, but I love the Automap rotaries and the keys. I don't chop samples very much, but I am good at it and would do it if it were fast and fun. I usually write my melodies on a ke...

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

- sample into Drum Rack pads from Push. - show things like waveforms on its display since it's only text-based, not graphical. - slice samples from the hardware - add/remove slices from the hardware - browse and load audio/clips from the hardware - duplicate Drum Rack pads from the hardware - edit ...

Yup. Quite baffling how Ableton messed this one up after all the time they had to do it right.

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

The number of pads or whether the pads are velocity/aftertouch sensitive are not at all what makes something an instrument for me. It's all about the actual experience of playing a hardware instrument, compared to a controller like Push that would force you to constantly click around with a mouse on...

Re: Sequence audio clips/slices that timestretch in real time?

This might help. I found this recent thread by Tom Cosm where he is using some kind of M4L device that seems to allow another MIDI clip to sequence other clips: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=191389

What's the "chop 16" feature? You can't chop samples from Push out of the box as far as I know.

Re: Sitting on the Fence - Push or Maschine

From my perspective, if you have to plug-in a keyboard, then it is the keyboard you are playing, not Maschine. Maschine by itself is not for playing instruments. Maschine's pads actually work great for playing all kinds of instruments, not just drums. I do use the pads to play melodies because it e...
