Re: Dreams

Anyone else experience the unusual phenomenon of having vivid dreams about the ableton interface? I actually made a bass sound in my dream, it was really awesome , I woke up in the middle of the night and remembered how I did it and actually made the bass sound at 4.00 am as quickly as I could befo...

Re: Yamaha Motif 6 to Ableton?

maybe try changing the preferences of the midi out in the Yamaha menu.. it can be set to either USB or midi (5 pin), so just change it to whatever your using.. that's how it is for the MO series anywayz..

Re: Analog summing: Dangerous Music 2bus and equivalents

If you mix OTB you well eventually have to use one more pass of A/D somewhere, unless you're still working with cassettes or are passing a reel-to-reel mixdown directly to your mastering engineer (who will still be converting it back to digital, again assuming your final distribution format include...

I found a small article about the subject and read a pro/con article yesterday, makes me reconsider the purchase of a analog summing box. Saves money as well lol

Re: WAV to midi.

Anyway, have a look to Melodyne. This does indeed work. It's a multi-step process but I have done it successfully. good on monophonic stuff... simple chords will work also.. but really it just depends on how good and clear the original material is.. like if the instrument is solo'd , then you have ...

DSP-Quatro, my new audio/sample editor

just stumbled upon this product yesterday after hearing that Bias, Inc. has ceased operations. I gotta say it's probably one of the best finds i've had in a while.. I don't really like reading manuals but just like Ableton, I was able to pick it up fairly quickly and it has a fairly intuitive workfl...

Re: Anyone using a RME Fireface 800 on LIVE 8?

works fine here.. get it used! no sense in buying new.. make sure you properly test it, not just plug it in and see if it lights up.. i got mine for $1100 a few years ago.. worked fine until i expanded my setup and started using a d-box for summing.. one of the external outs was faulty.. the tech sa...

haven't tried the dt770.. but i do have the ath-m50 and while it's a great value, to me the bass is a bit exaggerated.. I agree about using open back cans if your gonna use them for mastering.. I like my senn HD-650 alot
