Re: can I "lock to device" the Mackie C4 somehow?

you mean to have that secret handshake that the APC40 seems to have? I don't know.. i have a mackie control and the closest I've come to getting that is thru Reason, where it actually lets you "lock the device".. let me know if you do.. good luck

Re: ez mix

i use the Waves CLA artist plugs.. same concept and to me, it's great cuz it'll get me to about 80-90% of what i want, fairly quickly.. and then just adjust with other plug's if needed.. I also use tried the Waves JJP and Maserati series, and it's a totally different sound for each artist..

Re: given you have 54 tracks of 88.2/24 bit, is it normal

Update.. opening same project in 8.2.6, the project opens up significantly faster and you can almost playback immediately without disc overload issue (you have to wait until samples finish buffering in 8.2.8)... seems CPU meter (ableton) seems fishy also.. 8% for 8.2.6 vs roughly 25% for 8.2.8... 8....

for it take 10 to 15 minutes for Ableton to fully show all waveforms on arrangment view on all tracks when you open the project. I tracked this project in Propellerheads Reason (because I like the comp feature) and everytime i open this project up in Reason, all the wave files in arrangment are imme...

Re: DJ equipment suggestions for beginners.

No offense to anybody on here who put in the time and years, but I think at this point if you’re just getting started there’s absolutely no reason to get started on vinyl decks. Re: Groove 3 and other online courses

[quote="JohnEsbo"]I have to agree that some of the Groove3 tutorials are fantastic. I especially like Timothy Allan's stuff. His tutorials show how to produce quality music, not just how to use a certain tool. He also manages to keep tutorials interesting (some of the stuff available on the net is r...
