This how i'd do it: I'd just go to a club and record it with a hand-held recorder. Having a DJ mate would help. It'll sound way more realistic and there would be a greater contrast when you switch to the full-range sound. Perhaps, but there's a reason that movie and tv producers rarely use location...

so I've been reading on this app and it says that in the studio, you can use it for A/B-ing alternative mixes or device setups at the touch of a button. I'm not sure if I'm asking the question right but how does the "back to arrangment" button in ableton come into play with all these snaps...

not hype.. i'm using a Beats by Dre special edition USB cable and the kicks coming when i bang my midi controller are phatter and warmer..

i have melodyne and upgraded when DNA came out.. it's good for correcting notes (vocals) in a very detailed way, but still way too tedious to me.. but the more time you put in it, the better the results. but still, there are some notes that are just not salvageable and better/faster to just re-recor...

stupid question but can't you just get that T-Pain effect app on the iphone? it's not free but it's $1 i think.. if you have reason, Neptune is better in my opinion as far as ease of use and results for that kind of effect.. I have autotune and don't use it as much since the Props introduced neptune..

the times i've had crackling were either 1. too many clips playing that the HD can't keep up.. load onto RAM if needed.. i guess this would be more audio drop outs but can be seen as crackling.. 2. sampling rate selected on ADC different from what the project was initially started on.. 3. buffer set...

peeps shouldn't be allowed to upgrade unless they turn in a finished song to ableton w/ V8.. OH please elaborate. it wasn't directed at you or anyone else.. i'm just saying people are so hyped up about the next version (including myself at times) that it can become a distraction towards completing ...

i took a class once where the instructor said to keep it simple and just have one instance on a send track and adjust each track accordingly.. his premise is to have all tracks seem like they are playing in the same room.. maybe not the case in electronic music but he kept saying you want to make it...

damn Waves is charging me $200 for the WUP to go to V8 which is compatible to Lion.. maybe i'll stay on snow leopard..

from what i remember, you have to right click on the trillian interface at the given knob or slider, and choose enable automation, and then ableton should be able to automate it..

i use total mix but although with a RME FF800.. Honestly, I control everything within the DAW and rarely touch the levels in total mix unless i wanted to change routing.. I have a mackie MCU but i've never tried using it to control total mix for the reasons stated above but i believe TotalMix suppor...

it could be your monitors not translating well or but it can't be that bad.. the few times this happened to me were because

1. exported wrong channels
2. routing issues with outboard equipment.
