Re: Ableton recording limit?

if my calculations are correct a 2GB file will hold around 4 hours of audio @ 48kHz/24 bit ... Sorry to be a downer, but a 2GB file will only hold around 2 hours of 24 bit / 48Kz uncompressed stereo audio. At 16 bit / 44.1khz it's just over 3 hours. whoops, forgot to halve the final time for a ster...

Re: Ableton recording limit?

The thread may be seven years old, but it's still a relevant question and seems to come up fairly often. It's something I am still wondering about. I also experienced this problem back when I mixed sets seven years ago. After a long hiatus from music I've recently gotten back into things and will b...

Re: CPU overload after SSD upgrade

you need to create the file if it doesn't already exist... if you don't have a straight text editor, you can use TextEdit to create and edit the file—go in the TextEdit preferences and change the default file type to Plain Text... https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/209772865-Options-txt-file

Re: New PreSonus Studio 192 Mobile USB 3.0 (pics) - Woes routing DJ style headphone cue + nasty static starting tracks.

back now and had a quick squizz at the user manual. so you have 4 sets of software mixes available, Mix 1/2, Mix 3/4, Mix 5/6, Mix 7/8. note that Mix 1/2 does not automatically correspond to outputs 1/2 in Live, nor does Mix 3/4 refer to outputs 3/4. there will be a way to configure them to do that,...

Re: New PreSonus Studio 192 Mobile USB 3.0 (pics) - Woes routing DJ style headphone cue + nasty static starting tracks.

i don't have time to have a closer look but i suspect that the main issue is to do with how you have the software mixer of the Studio 192 Mobile configured. if that software mixer works like most others, Mix 1/2 and Mix 3/4 exist so that you can create two separate mixes from a combination of the ha...

Re: Question about polarity/phase flip

Then, instead of using Utility or doing any destructive editing, you can simply offset your audio file a tiny bit so the waveforms of your 2 tracks are going in an opposite direction. I’m kind of confused what you mean, and the point is to have them in the same direction it's partly confusing becau...

Re: CPU overload after SSD upgrade

what plugins are you using? have you checked that they are all authorized with the SSD? some plugins will continue to work after cloning to a new drive, others won't as the drive change invalidates the authorization...

Re: Question about polarity/phase flip

the Utility device inverts the polarity on the fly during playback, so the stored/displayed waveform doesn't change. if you recorded the signal post-Utility then that waveform would look different. also, while we are on the subject, although the terms are often used interchangeably (and incorrectly)...

Re: CPU OVERLOAD AFTER SSD UPGRADE

which SSD is it? are there any reported problems with it? and is it running the latest firmware?

another possibility is that the clone is corrupted. did you run the clone with verification turned on in CCC?

Re: Is my latency good enough or should I try to get it lower?

I am currently testing out a bunch of combinations for my buffer size and sample rate. To make sure that I am getting a good gauge of whether I will hear breaks and crackles during a set, I am stacking midi clips in as many as four tracks and playing them simultaneously. The lowest I have been able...
