Re: Question about polarity/phase flip

Then, instead of using Utility or doing any destructive editing, you can simply offset your audio file a tiny bit so the waveforms of your 2 tracks are going in an opposite direction. I’m kind of confused what you mean, and the point is to have them in the same direction it's partly confusing becau...

Re: CPU overload after SSD upgrade

what plugins are you using? have you checked that they are all authorized with the SSD? some plugins will continue to work after cloning to a new drive, others won't as the drive change invalidates the authorization...

Re: Question about polarity/phase flip

the Utility device inverts the polarity on the fly during playback, so the stored/displayed waveform doesn't change. if you recorded the signal post-Utility then that waveform would look different. also, while we are on the subject, although the terms are often used interchangeably (and incorrectly)...

Re: CPU OVERLOAD AFTER SSD UPGRADE

which SSD is it? are there any reported problems with it? and is it running the latest firmware?

another possibility is that the clone is corrupted. did you run the clone with verification turned on in CCC?

Re: Is my latency good enough or should I try to get it lower?

I am currently testing out a bunch of combinations for my buffer size and sample rate. To make sure that I am getting a good gauge of whether I will hear breaks and crackles during a set, I am stacking midi clips in as many as four tracks and playing them simultaneously. The lowest I have been able...

it's always curious when someone who clearly doesn't understand what they are doing berates others who clearly do.

I know this because I am shit at developing and maintaining a coherent interaction metaphor when new features creep into a product. I know myself how I say "fuck it, this is wrong, but then need it by Tuesday". That's exactly what I am looking at here.
ok, so you are at war with evolution!

Usually it's just a matter of throwing darts at a dart board full of ideas when it comes time to add new features. The only stipulatation is that whatever we pick has to be ready to release on a Tuesday.
does the dart board have Angstrom's face on it?

Re: Using External Hard Drives

if you are being prudent you would have two local copies and one offsite copy.

be mindful that RAID systems are not backup systems. RAID provides redundancy, which increases the chance that you can keep working even if a drive fails. a backup is an independent copy, ideally with some history.

Re: Is my latency good enough or should I try to get it lower?

that's a very respectable round-trip latency. the main impact of latency is felt/heard when monitoring through Live when recording or overdubbing. the maximum amount of workable latency depends on who is playing. some people can readily adjust their timing to account for significant amounts of laten...
