^^^ to be honest, i did not figured (or cared) much about maschines terminology yet, i just load sounds onto pads in groups (like bank A drums, bankB bass, etc.) and created a few patterns per sound... and then just jam the hell out of it, on the fly. that is so much fun, not much thinking involved...

Mac. Always a Mac. You can pick up a White Macbook (2.16Ghz or there abouts) for around £450/£500. Fantastic machines, they 'just work' and even an older model won't become out of date like a PC will.
