I think there is no true alternative to Thor. It is the fattest soft synth I ever heard so far.

Live LE was overdue. It could be the perfect partner for Reason. But no ReWire :-( Some decisions are really hard to understand.

Re: Live Kills Logic's ReWire !

Even if Live is not running, if Live exists in the computer, Logic+Reason = no audio! Midi i/o and play/stop work properly, but no audio comes into logic's mixer. again even if Live is not running. We uninstalled Live, and trashed everything named 'ableton' from our system and... viola' --> Logic+R...

JahGuide wrote:I just got a copy of Vista from my job so is anyone running Live 5.2 on a PC with Vista?
Live 6.0.3 and Vista seems not to be a dream team (sluggish GUI, big latencies). Other stuff I've tested works well so far (Reason, ASIO4All, M-Audio MIDI drivers) on my Dell laptop.

Looks a little bit like a Micro Korg II. Unfortunately they've dropped the cool retro look :-(

Take a look at the Arturia website (really sluggish at the moment). They have a new hardware (!) synth (based on Sharc DSPs) that remembers me a little bit of the PPG Realizer ;-)

Simpler should read sample loop settings

Some WAV and AIF files includes sustain loop settings in their file headers. Sampler can read these settings already. Unfortunately, Simpler not.

We all disable fancy graphics on our audio workstations normally, right? Not more. In the 90s this was essential. Since Win XP it is wasted time to disable all the eye candy stuff. The most reputable german computer magazine c't has checked all these XP tuning tricks in detail. Conclusion was: 99 %...
