IMHO the best arpeggiator I've seen so far in a soft synth is in Linplug Albino 2. This babe has programmable rhythm patterns and a chord mode (which is simply fantastic).

Re: Copy protection improvement

The option from Native Instruments to "deauthorize" the computer is a very useful thing. You can sell your computer or change any component as often you like - without loosing authorization counts.

Which "non workiness" MIDI features do you mean? I'm using Orange Vocoder (2.7) which works great in Live 4, even as MIDI controlled VST effect.

Re: apple loops tag support

Maybe a little silly, but i'm thinking that the apple loops packs -- and new ones being created - would be an easy and great addition to live; meaning that right now they're only .aiff files with all the genre info written in the file (see how they're displayed in garageband) -- and, having read th...

IMHO the Fruity Loops arpeggiator is not really state of the art. It makes more or less this boring up/down stuff. Additional to your wishes I would like to see an arpeggiator with programmable patterns (e.g. 16 steps on/off) and a chord trigger feature (incoming notes will not be arpeggiated but rh...

Re: Computer keyboard lag and latency

Is anyone else experiencing significant lag and latency when using the computer keyboard for MIDI input? If so, are you able to combat the problem in any way? I find it quite difficult to perform even simple musical tasks on the keyboard due to the latency and jitter. Same here on my PowerBook. BTW...

Take a look at ReMIDI (www.grantedsw.com) or Numerology (www.five12.com). IMHO both apps are not really satisfying. In ReMIDI I miss fundamental features (i.e. the synchronization is complicated and not tight, and you have to go into the prefs (!!!) if you want to change the octave range.) Also, ReM...

Re: Logic AU Instruments make Live crash

Frank Hoffmann from Ableton has posted a related message in the beta forum: Emagics seems to work on an update to make the Emagic AU stuff compatible to Live 4.

As audio effect using a the internal carrier synth, Orange Vocoder (2.7.0) seems to work well so far. But I never tried to control the carrier via MIDI. OK, to be honest: I have no idea how to route MIDI *and* audio to the plug-in. It's time to read the manual more detailed ;-).

Yes, the Pitch plug-in is nice. But a clip property named "Transpose" would be IMHO more logical (and perhaps easier to use for switcher ;-).
