i remain loyal only to ableton. the machine it runs on is insignificant because it's just a box that will eventually fail me.

some people have no problems with m-audio. i wouldn't go near another one of their soundcards again. i think you're gonna have to deal with some trial and error when it comes to a soundcard unless you save your pennies.

i like this thread. i hear 14 servers, the high-pitched squeal of a tv monitor muted, an occasional click from a distributed satellite tv system, doors slamming, vacuums knocking into the wall, a spanish-speaking cleaning crew, the bassline to thom yorke's "the clock" in my head, someone I don't kno...

You get an adapter cable AND you'd have to use the wall-wart power supply that comes with the soundcard rather than it being powered over the firewire bus. I have an m-audio fw-410 that works on my mac and NOT on my HP (L2000). For whatever reason, it's not recognized. It was recognized at one time ...

I've been fence sitting on this one too. I emailed their tech support to see if my pcmcia card bus controller was supported on my hp L2000 and they responded within the hour. They said they weren't sure but that I should try one out to see. Fair enough. It looks like a lot of bang for the buck. I fi...

best damn forum for any product in my opinion. i lurk most of the time, gain much needed knowledge and leave with a laugh.
beyond talking about techniques, tips, bugs, etc. it's nice to see a global perspective on all matters - whether it's a vst, Live feature set, or a new conspiracy theory.

I always used Sennheiser HD-25's as they have the most accurate and balanced sound quality, the toughest build quality and because every part is user replacable, not because everyone else used them ;) Like I said, no offense! :D Having user replaceable parts is a big plus. I a/b'd my grados with on...
