You know what, we all know 8's battered, end of... We'll just have to stick it out with 7 till Ableton sort there ish out, Me, well I've got the logic disks all lined up for installation this weekend.. we'll see if I fair better with that, I've honestly got to say the time lost with problems in 8 ha...

i guess i have had some imporvements with some of the various suggestions... but then again some sets do open and are really slow and buggy... maybe i will try the undo trick... but still, i do not feel 8 is stable enough for shows... Still rocking 7 when i got to play in front of a crowd as not in...

On the mac

I found the problem was project specific, when I loaded a problem project (that pushes the ableton process to 100% cpu when idle) I simply deleted the only drum-rack midi channel then performed an undo to restore it, the cpu issue went away during that session.

I've been working in the software testing sector for over 6 years now and at them moment I honestly get the impression that the testing department at Ableton is

1) Under resourced
2) Poorly realised
3) Simply not listened too

Seriously Ableton I'm simply not impressed with Ableton 8.1.1... My daily crash count is usually 4 or 5 on a good day.
