Re: [pro tip] Presonus Firebox & Windows 7...
Most places will do an "upgrade" offer. So you can get XP and the upgrade later. But, no, no regrets so far. I just think the firebox issues are a combo of IRQ issues and Presonus not having Win7 drivers yet - for me at least. I've read plenty of reports of "no problems!" though, so I think for the ...

Yeah, same thing for the IRQ for me, though I think that's how it's supposed to be. The firebox isn't technically a resource, the firewire port is.

Re: [pro tip] Presonus Firebox & Windows 7...
Tried 64bit, but a few plugs wouldn't work so I went to 32bit. It will distort on me in iTunes sometimes, restarting iTunes sorts that out though. Also, I have airports set up around the place and there's a definite delay between the studio monitors and the rest of them. Changing latency hasn't help...

Re: [pro tip] Presonus Firebox & Windows 7...
You 32 or 64bit? I found that, along with what you've mentioned, I needed to go in to Device Manager and change the OHCI driver around. That may depend on your motherboard to some extent though, so your results may vary. I still get pops/clicks in Live or iTunes, but it's either lessened over the pa...

FX Rack for VST Drum Machines? (iDrum, Battery, etc)
Trying to get my head around the best way to route this. Probably simple, but . . . So I drop an iDrum in a track, call it Track 1. Works the same as Battery for the most part, in terms of the VST's routing, you get several outs for each channel and can have Live address each one in a new track. So,...

Re: Setting That Would Reverse L/R Channels?
Felt brave for a minute and decided to update. Before the drivers failed still/again, I was able to test the L/R. No change, still reversed.
Now to revert drivers. Fun!

Re: Setting That Would Reverse L/R Channels?
Hmmmm, ok. Good call. I've had firebox driver issues forever now that I think of it. Updating renders it unusable for some reason, though it's been a while since I've messed with it. Reverting back to the 1.20.0.0 version, it works fine, though maybe that's the issue right there. I'll give it an upd...

Re: Setting That Would Reverse L/R Channels?
Just tried. That works, thanks (and duh me). Suppose I can just save that in my template, though a bit odd that the default is flipped.

Setting That Would Reverse L/R Channels?
Actually been experiencing this for a while, but finally getting around to sorting it out. Seems only in Live (first in v7, now in v8) that L and R channels are reversed. That's to say if I pan L, it comes out of the right monitor and vice versa. I've checked playback in iTunes and played with panni...

Re: Akai APC 40 help please!!!
Give them a call. They picked up right away and were pretty helpful. I haven't heard from the email form either, now that you mention it. Alternately, once the key is gone, uninstall the USB Audio Device from Dev Manager, right click the top of that tree and "scan for hardware changes" so it re-adds...

i wish you the best of luck in your endeavour!hurlingdervish wrote:plug and play my ass.

Seriously though, not Akai's fault. Sounds like Logitech's. It was a bit annoying, but Akai support was quick and awesome all the way through and for most people it does appear to be plug and play.

Re: Akai APC 40 help please!!!
Registry fix worked for me as well. Here's the skinny: Due to an apparent bug in Windows it has been observed that a certain registry key can cause USB MIDI Class devices not to show up in software applications. The key is called LowerFilters and is set, for example, by many Logitech USB products. W...

Re: A tip on APC40 setup with USB Audio Device.
Just to update this thread, seems that a common issue (this info direct from Akai) is Logitech Webcam and it's drivers will hose the USB Audio. They sent me a zip file (reg hack) for it, but haven't had a minute to run it.
