Sorting them only takes an hour or two, and once it's done you'll really appreciate it. Searching is a quick fix sure, but the hidden benefit of sorting them by category is that when you're actually producing and think "I need a vocoder", instead of just using whatever vocoder plugin you can remembe...

Can't you group simple delays together (100% wet, no feedback) to make the delay time as long as you want? Or use track delays if you're creating a feedback loop?

Hmm, nah I think individual applications can use as much memory as the system reports is available, but XP 32-bit won't detect more than 3GB:

I was getting this kind of behavior with Live 6/7 + 2GB of RAM as well. Upgrading to 4GB (even though only 3GB is available under XP, doh!) and sticking to a working sample rate of 44.1KHz has solved the problem for me.

By the time my ears want a rest I'm usually ready for another cuppa, or some snack food. Make sure the fridge + pantry is at the other end of the house, then you'll go for a walk. :)
