Re: Poll: how many of you *don't* play live?

I play guitar live,in a punk band on all too rare reunions with the lads I played with in the 90's. I don't think I'd ever have the balls to try the producer/electronica stuff on stage...I fuck it up way too often at home to the point of not just being able to pick up at the next bar. Guitar and lyr...

Nah, having been a stay at home dad changing several thousand shitty nappies and getting vomited on daily sort of gets you past the pride thing...helps with vanity too :|

And if it helps anyone in anyway, its all good.

Real noob solution to hisssss

 I have been living with an unwanted hiss in my system for so long I barely noticed it...that was until I accidentally knocked the wallwort for my Mackie Onyx Satellite out. To my surprise, it didn't switch off...Two years and I never realised it could run off the fw port. To my delight there ...

Re: Another Reason Why The iPhone RULES

I'm not getting sucked in by all the hype again. I'm going to wait 5 more years and everyone will be scavenging around, demanding that the analogue network be switched back on, because all this digital stuff is too clear and lifeless, too predictable. All the little farty types will bemoan the lack ...

Re: Fighting the Creativity Block

Actually working already. Just playing a simple 140BPM 4/4 beat and jamming on the guitar...out of the seat already, moving around and thoroughly enjoying myself. You're dead right, playing is what is needed, not sitting on my fat arse programming the bloody computer. I might try to get my cousin in...

Fighting the Creativity Block

Been getting absolutely nothing for months now, half baked phrases, beats in my head that I don't seem to be able to create, riffs that sound good first time then shite when I record them....so.... This afternoon I've tidied up the studio in as much that I have wrapped up the hardware synth, the mpc...

Re: Thinking about making the change to mac....

just use whatever and MAKE MUSIC No arguments there, I'm still working my head around the technology every day. I come from a 20 year background of punk/ska playing shitty old guitars through whatever amps were available. I really find it hard to incorporate the technology into forming the sound I ...

Re: Thinking about making the change to mac....

Boy, this has got me thinking.... If I had gone the PC route instead of the MBP, what kind of set up could I have got (lets say if I was starting from scratch) for the same money...just trolling through ebay, I think you could be pretty functional including computer, software and a number of periphe...

Re: Thinking about making the change to mac....

On a PC you change broken parts yourself, try that on an iMac... I replaced a fucked up superdrive on my iMac.....Absolute fucking nightmare, prying the case apart, peeling off Aluminium sticky tape, uncountable screws to remove and then three months later the replacement died. I won't go on about ...
