I'm working on a Max Patch to do that using the CovOps PKsquared files as a base to start from. You can download those files on their website. I'd share but I'm not really far enough along to bother with it. They basically interface with the PadKontrol native mode, allowing you to concentrate on int...

Interesting points and opinions here. But what abut all the big name dj's such as Sasha, Carl Cox , Ritchie Hawtin, Chris Liebing... they all seem to only use digital methods and not a piece of vinyl used anymore. In fact Ritchie claims vinyl is a bitch to deal with. Are these good examples of what...

I've been hearing this question asked over and over again since I was a kid...I think the answer can conclusively be said to be: No, it's not going to disappear, it is going to be (and has been for a long time already) a niche market. Reasons have already been stated above- it comes down to: vinyl i...

I'm aware of the Live clip loop button. button it works in trigger mode. The way I jam on my SP606 is that I have most of my pads set to loop, but the pads are set to gate. e.g. I push down the pad, it plays till I let go. If I hold it longer than it's normal loop length, it'll just keep looping ti...

Yeah, I was actually wondering if you might dig this thing. The swappable presets are what throw it over the top- it can control any number of distinct channels in Ableton, and then switch back to CD or vinyl without missing a beat! I love my Xone, but I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't make the ...

What I want to know, is how is the loop button(bottom left) on the Maschine implemented? for recording purposes, or playing? There's one feature which I use on my Roland SP606 for live performance, which I don't even see in LIVE, is the "hold" button. It allows me to jam any looped pad, gate style, ...

Nobody has ever used this thing? It looks sick- every control is midi mappable to any message you want, 64 hot swappable presets, color LCD with customizable text to tell you exactly where you at. OK, it needs 4 more encoders to really be Ableton love time, but still... edit: thanks for the words of...

The Abes have obviously listened to their customers and done their darndest to both add in much requested features and to innovate beyond ways that most of us were imagining. I am so tired of the pricing debates- if you want the instruments, Live Suite is a good deal, buying them individually isn't....

different species of fish...both pretty cool, neither 100% ideal. sure, the APC wins in cool factor (that clip grid!) and price, but lets not forget that they had pretty much finished designing the VCM (and pics were leaked) when they started designing the APC. so, I'm saying that the APC benefitted...
