External Drum Modules
Anyone using external drum modules - either "synthetic drums" like a TR-something-0-something-or-other, or like a full Roland TD-xx electronic kit? I've got a TD-50 and can record in my drum MIDI as a plain old MIDI track, then play it back to the module and get all my lovely 8-part multi-...

Re: Where is the Live 11?
I presume it'll be done at some point today? My computer has been going slow recently with Live 10 and has had a load of crap on it for a long time. So finally got a fresh OS install on a new drive yesterday. Currently it's empty except audio drivers, so figured I may as well go straight for Live 11...

What parts of a DAW are written in low level languages?
I was just geekily pondering what parts of a DAW/plugins/etc are written in high level languages and which are more low-level/CPU instruction specific for added performance? Any programming/DAW/plugin geeks out there who know what kinda parts have to be re-written to make music software run natively...

Re: MacOS Big Sur and M1 (Apple Processor) support
Also read somewhere about compatibility issues with Push 1, but mine is working fine! Is this where you read about the issues with Push 1? https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=240993&start=75#p1784267 Were there other sources talking about problems with Push 1? Thanks I'd like to k...

Re: Multiple track record fail?
Sorted it. The record foot pedal on the Push only records the track the Push is on regardless of those armed! If I press the record button, else more sensibly, go back to the footswitch on the MOTU (set to "press F9"), it's all fine again. Back to the old method of fumbling around the mass...

Multiple track record fail?
Am I going daft? I'm trying to record two audio tracks simultaneously, cmd-click the 2nd so they're both armed. I record and only 1 of the armed ones records!!! I tried turning off the Push in case that was confusing it. Still the same. Restarted Live. Then seemed to work. Then decided to record onl...

Re: Midi clock start string?
You're asking what the '0x' is? If so, it's a prefix used to denote hexadecimal. If your controller purely works with hexadecimal, you wouldn't need that. You'd just need to enter the FA. I know the 0x bit. I just expected more in front to say it's a clock type command or whatever. Maybe F is clock...

Re: Midi clock start string?
Cheers. So that says it's 0xFA. What's the beginning part of the string though? I've got a midi controller that sends out "sysex strings". Technically midi clock isn't part of the 'sysex' bit of midi but I'm suspicious it'll basically send anything midi if I have the full hex code for the ...

Midi clock start string?
I don't suppose any of you midi geniuses can tell me what the hex string is for a MIDII clock start message? Or how to work it out? The only info I've found seems a little unfathomable.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Not as bad as I originally thought then. I'd probably go for it if it wasn't for my Liquid Foot editor.Tarekith wrote: VST versions seem to be fine, I was using Komplete10 in Maschine last night for hours with no issues.

If it's detecting it at half tempo and you don't want to press that button someone mentioned, you should have made the track more in-your-face Trance!

Re: OSX 10.11 El Capitan Compatibility
Apple’s like clockwork annual upgrades I was fine with the 3 year cycle. Apparently that doesn't move computers. Me getting free OS upgrades doesn't make me want a new one either! But then also I pulled the DVD out my current old MacBook and put another drive in so have 2 TB of storage, half ...

Re: Old MacBook Pro. Upgrade from live 8 to 9 ?
On 2nd thoughts, is Live compatible with the latest version of OS X you can put on it.
If not: No.
If yes: Download the trial, load up a set and see how it goes...

Re: OSX 10.11 El Capitan Compatibility
I was just re-reading the NI compatibility message. It only mentions "AU"s and hardware:
TRAKTOR KONTROL S4 (MK1)
TRAKTOR KONTROL X1 (MK1)
TRAKTOR AUDIO 2 (MK1)
AUDIO 8 DJ
AUDIO 4 DJ
AUDIO 2 DJ (MK1)
MASCHINE (MK1)
RIG KONTROL 3
So I'm guessing VSTs are alright? Just not AU versions?
