Best placement of acoustic treatment???

Hello! I've managed to get a whole load of decent acoustic foam for free from work, as they got rid of a room they used to do some audio interference measurements on phones - not fully anechoic, but pretty decent stuff for my home studio! So, where's the best places to put it? My music room is also ...

Mac App category

Super super easy request. Put in the "LSApplicationCategoryType" tag in Live's info.plist as "Music". Then when my mac's Application folder is sorted by type Live will come up as a "Music" app, rather than an "Other" at the bottom with all the other junk. I can do it manually like this: http://hints...

Re: Ableton Push - I'm still not Pushin!!

I thought half the idea of pre-ordering is so companies know what the demand will be like? Due to no red box in Arrange view showing you the currently selected tracks, Push is still just as useless for adjusting instruments/levels as an APC40 is when I'm working on arrangements anyway, so I'm in no ...

Re: Ableton Live 9. First Impressions??? what do you think?

P.S. From the beta I very much liked "seeing" what I was doing with the new compression and seemed to get better sounds quicker when I could see the effect of it too. EQ8 expanded view is damn handy as well. Those 2 tweaks could be a lot more important to me long term than some of the more immediate...

Re: Ableton Live 9. First Impressions??? what do you think?

I've run the beta to check it for bugs I had with L8 until one of the most recent betas, and those of L9 also seemed to fix it. But I never had all the packs etc and proper library installed with beta 9 so never tried any 'proper' tunes with it. I'm currently downloading, but also using this new Liv...

Please please please gimme a red box in Arrange...

Dear Abes, Please, please, please can I get a red box in arrange to show where my APC40 is, like in session? I spend more of my time in arrange these days than session and my APC40 is useless in it, as would be any Launchpad or Push controller, all because I don't know what tracks it's looking at! I...

Re: Mac Fusion Drive Experience (with music stuff)?

I couldn't be bothered with the possibility that it *might* be a PITA after reading that, and so I'm gonna stick with my current guaranteed fast apps, OS, and Ableton stuff and slow iTunes/iPhoto. :-/

Mac Fusion Drive Experience (with music stuff)?

So the latest iMacs have the option of a fusion drive; an ssd for speed and a platter drive for space, which the OS dynamically assigns stuff to depending how much you use it. This is apparently also doable on any mac that has an ssd and platter drive in from what I read. I have a 256gb ssd and 1tb ...

What does your disk usage indicator say when it's rendering?

Re: where is my hard drive space going?

If its a win PC get treesize free, or a mac get space gremlin from the App Store. Those will show you exactly where your space has gone. Must have apps for PC/mac respectively when you need to free up some bed space.

What's the thing at the bottom of the Live Intro page that says if you have Live LE you can get a copy of Intro? http://www.ableton.com/live-intro

Re: Building a live set for a band problems,

So basically you just want to use ableton live as a massive soft synth? You can use device chains to change sounds using the same "instrument" track in live? Otherwise use a number of tracks set to different midi channels and change your controller's channel. You can automate changes if you use devi...
