Re: Is it proved that Live runs faster on Windows 7 than OS X

dude! 8O 2. Desktop: Custom HackMac doesnt that ring a bell? +1 Hackintoshes don't count. My wife's "slower" macbook is faster and snappier than my "faster" hackintosh. Maybe a bit more even to use a real mac, and compare it to win7 with bootcamp as mac laptops are known to be good windows laptops,...

Re: OSX + Live 8 on Homemade PC?

Mine works ok. I bought the bits to be "mac-ish". I've used it on stage in front of large crowds. However, it took ages to get going, probably isn't speed-stepping properly as my wife's MBP is technically noticably slower but seems to run a lot snappier, I can't update to snow leopard (or I'm not wi...

Re: Buying Core i7 macbook.

The Imac already has a quad core 2.8 i7 processor option available and a 2.66 i5 quad core option. The Imac uses laptop architecture, so you wonder how long it will be for a quad core to come to a MBP. No, it's a desktop processor in the iMac. That's why no laptops other than ones using desktop pro...

Re: Buying Core i7 macbook.

The whole point of me getting a laptop is to be mobile and portable (and I'll use it for stuff other than music). So, I'm moving away from a desktop as it's FAR too much stuff to move along with my guitar rig. It already takes me most of an hour to pack everything and load my van (then I have to set...

Re: Features you would like to see in Ableton 9?

A tuner plugin!!!

Just sat here playing my bass DI'd into my soundcard. Got ome inspiration, but it's a bit out of tune. Do I want to go and plug in all the bass rig and rack tuner. Nope. Tuner please. Especially if it's really accurate so I can do the intonation of guitars and basses on it!

Re: Elvis Whistlehoof - Post-Rock/Funk/Alternative

Cheers for the feedback. Glad you (generally) liked it! Yeah, there's something about the mix I can't put my finger on. It doesn't quite gel, and there's a slight woolleyness to it too. Mmm, I'll have to ponder the solo. I played it improvised as a first take, and I haven't thought of a better one, ...

Re: 8.1.4 - king of stability?

I really wish people would at the least keep a text document of their system specs, and loaded VST/AU's that they could paste into their comments in update threads! Most of the time you don't even know what OS someone is running when they post, "It's crashing more for me!" etc. :? This wasn't point...

Re: Rad Productions

How do you get the swelly noise on the synths in the mau5 ones? Is that comp sidechaining and/or the synth attack? Are you sidechaining off the kick, or something else?

Good sound! :)

Elvis Whistlehoof - Post-Rock/Funk/Alternative

Hello. Here's my latest Work In Progress (vocals all need re-recording + general tweaking all over) from my project: Elvis Whistlehoof and the Flying Saucer Working Party. It's my own genre I've called "Wonky Funk" (although this one's in regular time signatures unlike my usual creations). Features ...

Re: Live hardware monitoring using Motu Ultralike mk3

Set all the ins you need from the turntables/etc in the cuemix software "inputs" tab to optimum levels. Set up all your tracks in Ableton to the same ins and record enable them. Make sure they are muted though so they don't output from the monitors, but will record. Go to the "mixes" tab in CuemixFX...

Re: Buying Core i7 macbook.

may i ask what your issues with hackintosh might be? why u find that running osx native is better? It took ages to get going properly. It's easier to do these days probably though. If I try to go to Snow leopard I get Kernel Panics on install, and then it resets all my BIOS settings. I've followed ...
