Agree with all the points above. I usually work in arrangement view and it could definitely be made easier.
As per the fact there's no proper mixer in arrangement view though, I press "tab" in arrangement view and it toggles the lovely mixer view on and off!

Re: kick and bass how to make them sound massive and punch
I like the Dance Music Manual (I think it's called) myself. Some good explanations in there, even though what I make wouldn't really be classed as dance. I'm an Engineer/Physicist and Guitarist too, so my main problem is I know exactly how it all works and all the principles behind it, but my ears d...

We had this one a couple of days ago. Basically yes they all work fine, but go to the next page or 2 for the full thing!

Re: why is live unable to find its own audio files?
Live can never find my missing files either.
Yeah, you can customise the OSX one.
I liked the Dog on the XP search. It made it more endearing when it couldn't find F***-all ever!

Re: Session Drums - Limitations?
Not wanting to Hijack the thread but any good tips to get the most out of session drums, especially the Multimic ones? I'm after a punchy alternative rock/funk crossover sound that'll do somewhere from Live dance (a la Faithless type thing) merging through James Brown to more of a Incubus/Tool/Hard ...

Re: Session Drums - Limitations?
The Multimic kits default to having a Hi-Hat openness macro knob. You can assign this to a MIDI CC if you Hi-Hat pedal sends CCs. I bought myself an electronic Alesis kit (which doesn't send variable Footpedal openness so never tried it myself though). I figured it's be a long time til I can play it...

Re: Audio effect on/off behaviours
My original "kill the send" with a retun track obviously wouldn't work id the reverb's mid-chain, but yes, parallel chains in a rack with a smaller amount going to the reverb (which is 100% wet). Then kill the send to that part of the parallel chain (and use a macro knob if you fancy to gr...

Re: Audio effect on/off behaviours
Dunno, I'm at work too, but if it does cut off run the reverb as a send/return, and kill the send signal instead?

Do the built in tutorials and watch a few online videos (on the Abe site, and any simpler Youtube ones).

Re: Looking For Analog Waveforms
I take it you don't have Suite and can use an unmodulated Analog/Operator sine wave, bounce it stuff it in sampler and cut it up? Dunno if you can get a pure sine out of them though.

Re: Hackintosh
Mine's Leopard, didn't have much luck going to SL. :( I'm buying an i7 Macbook Pro next week though. That'll save some trouble and will probably fix my 8.1.4 & 8.1.5 problem. 8.1.5 never worked, 8.1.4 used to work, and 8.1.3 still does! Then when I've got a new main computer (the MBP) and ...

Re: Should Future LIVE versions be written for one or the other?
I use a mac. People I work on projects with use both. So no, because if it was OSX only then I'd still not be happy even though I'm an OSX user. My desktop Hackintosh I always use in OSX I might just run Win7 once I get my Macbook Pro too (to save hassle).

Re: Is Suite worth it?
I'd say it all depends if you have other VSTs about. If you have a load it may well not be worth it. On the other hand I didn't really have any decent ones, and needed a wide selection of general sounds, along with some half decent drums. As a result I got the boxed suite so I have a load of tools t...

Or most things you click on you can then type the number. Depends what it is though.

Re: 8.1.5 available for download
Where are live preferences on the mac? They're shared in a library somewhere aren't they? Think I might delete them. My 8.1.5 crashed from the first time I started it and it tried to access my keychain then failed, and hasn't worked since. I deleted the Ableton things from the keychain to see if tha...
