Live 6 and Hyper Threading

Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anyone know if Live 6 is optimized for/takes advantage of processors with Hyper Threading technology (Pentium 4 with HT)? Or is it only Dual Core users that will benifit from drastic performance improvements?

Looks nice. Since it's a Dell and you've got the option to configure it just as you want it, I'd recommend spending some extra money and getting a 7200 rpm hard drive (60 GB or more). It makes a lot of difference when working with big sample patches and audio recording. (Make sure you choose good pr...

If you don't know where to spend your money, go for the Squeezebox by Slim Devices. Ultra cool! I got mine a month ago and it's worth every penny. Audiophile quality hardware specs, intuitive UI design and open source server software. http://www.slimdevices.com/images/sb3_hero_200.jpg Visit http://w...

Comparing Firewire 400 and USB2 generally means lower stress on your system (CPU) using Firewire. Impossible to say what your latency will be - too many parameters involved. My experience: quality gear == more expensive == lower latency. Check out RME Fireface 800 for latencies at 1 ms. http://www.r...

Really, really cool stuff! Is ColorBeads Session pt. 1 & 2 released on CD? If so, where can we buy it? Or is there FLAC/WAV versions anywhere to be downloaded/ordered online?

Now, promise you'll get Live 5 when it's released and give us some more!

Peace.

The thing is that with bigger machine "words" (64bit vs 32bit) you can do certain arithmetics faster because you can do it in a single operation instead of using two operations and such. For example, if you sum a 32 bit number with another 32 bit number, you could easily get a number that is more t...

I had the chance to play with a HP Compaq tc1100 Tablet PC and installed the Live 4 demo just to see if it was any good. I can't say it was... Using the pen against the 10.4" screen was too inaccurate. Using the dock (with it's keyboard as an ordinary notebook) worked better, but then I'd rather buy...

Have a look at hp nx8220. It's available to the EMEA market and comes in different configurations. hp nx8220 /sp0 Why would the HP's in the UK be different than the ones in the US? After doing the conversion they seem like great deals. To convert UK currency to US currency simply divide the total i...
