'mate' applies to anyone or anything born of this earth. Male, female, friend, stranger, your grandparents, your dog....it's all 'mate'.

Do NOT, under any circumstances, attempt to use the word sheila! 8O

Tiesto makes sure we have a mainstream market in electronic music. That's equally important as having an underground scene. Going to a Tiesto concert is for many an introduction to electronic music. That's a good thing. We need even more people like him, especially in countries like the USA where e...

^^ or Dubstation (www.audiodamage.com)...$40 and so easily worth it as it's so easy to use. Hit the unsync button, trigger your sample and wind down the delay time...but be prepared to lose the next 4hrs making random noises!...too much fun!

I'm running a Travelmate 5720 with Live - no problems (got mine from Oz though). Has the TI firewire chipset in it. As someone mentioned before the 4 pin is fine but you'll have to power your soundcard via mains...no big deal. I wouldn't trust that because mine has the TI that yours definately will ...

Yeah as I said in another post somewhere I really like what you guys are doing for us newbies. I had an awesome time a few days ago going through all the vids with a few beers and generally learning more in 6 hours than I have in the last 6 months. Cheers :)

Hi Sam, Always good to spot a fellow aussie on the boards :) I think you are in the exact position I was about 7-8 months ago. I ended up getting Live 6 (free upgrade to 7) with Operator and Sampler, an Acer laptop and a Firebox sound card. First the Acer: it's a good machine but it had Vista and I ...

Video tutorials are the most valuable format of learning material available IMHO. For me, the manual doesn't make 100% sense all the time - A decent tutorial makes the manual make sense and gives inspiration as you can actually hear the changes occuring with different settings etc... I've just spent...

^^ I have a Firebox with 4 pin firewire connection and yes, you definately need an external power supply. With a Dell and Richo chipset I would seriously caution you to do alot of homework if you decide to go down the firewire route...a good chance it won't work at all.
