Re: XLR Male Audio Cables To PC

To answer your question, it is possible but it isn't worthwhile. Unless your onboard soundcard is somehow top of the range. Ordinarily once you get to the stage of having decent monitors you need a decent external soundcard as well. The soundcard connects to your PC via normal PC connectivity route ...

Re: Suite DL or Box...biggest differences??

Interface and monitors are essential in the end, but to be honest, you do yourself a favour by waiting. Then you know exactly what you need to plug in, so, how many inputs and outputs you need for midi and audio, dictating what interface you need, rather than buying a focusrite model X and then find...

Re: Suite DL or Box...biggest differences??

 GAS, you see? One minute you have an APC and Live Lite now you want Arturia synths, NI samples, focusrite interface and then you'll need some good quality monitors too to get the most out of your interface. Unless you need to plug stuff in now, guitars etc. then stuck with what you have, upgra...

Re: Suite DL or Box...biggest differences??

Correct. Session drums is a nicely sampled set of acoustic drums, nice with the Live integration but over time you'll either build your own, buy a 3rd party acoustic drum platform or you can go back and drop the cash on session drums DVD from the abes. Then again you don't get your set of ableton st...

Re: Suite DL or Box...biggest differences??

Well session drums and EIC2 can be purchased as add ons anyway so DL version is for you. EIC2 is pretty ordinary anyway and you certainly going to have most of those covered by thirs party plugs in time. Secon, and most important, you're already bulding your own drum kits from samples so session dru...

Re: Suite DL or Box...biggest differences??

Go for it if you want, you get plenty of cool stuff even with the dl.

I just add, from your previous posts I wonder whether you need it or not.

What are you hoping you'll get out of it?

Re: So where are your studios exactly???

Time for a new photo LSZ...

Mines in the garage, so kind of a basement similar set up. I really miss having natural light. that would be better. But sometime a low light situation is cool too.

But...view would be better.

Re: Will upgrade to Snow Leopard cause me any problems?

If it still works, s'good. I found I started to run into some plug issues though...kind of like your almost forced to upgrade at some point and then it was an easy decision I guess. Point was though, no issues with SL and Live on the new mbp...I did have fan issues on my old mp with leopard...but th...

Re: How to monitor volume between tracks?

This is where Mastering comes in to play. If you have no experience then you need to send your tracks to a mastering engineer. You can simply use a limiter to get your tracks to the same perceived loudness but if you're struggling to record and mix your tracks at more or less the same level to start...
