Re: Good VST for strings?

I'm liking Session Strings by Native Instruments at the moment, some nice animation features like slides and dives. Runs nicely in their free player. A tidy little package.

No-one will care if you're not trying to sell it.

If you are, get a good lawyer.

Re: Mastering with Izotope Ozone 4/Waves

Dithering is the last thing you do and you should only do it once ideally. So export at 24bit with no dither, then master. Ozone is a useful programme but if you don't know what you're doing or what the functions are then just use a preset. Some of the presets include a dither algo, so then in abes ...

Re: Noob mixer question (not dj mixer)

Thanks for the reply. I guess I never thought about the quality of the signal. I'm really just looking for something that will provide faderwork. What is an APC? APC40 Ableton Live specific hardware controller, does what it says on the tin. Gives you the fader control and transport buttons and effe...

Re: Noob mixer question (not dj mixer)

You need a multi in and out interface so that you can route the interface to the computer and route individual tracks out to the interface on separate outs, which are then routed to the mixer and the mixer stereo outs are routed back to the interface. Easy set up really, but in all honesty if the mi...

Re: Assign pads to specific drums using DKFH and trigger finger.

You can program the trigger finger to send specific mid notes, if you program it to correspond with the midi notes that trigger your DKFH kit, when you hit a pad it'll hit the drum.

Re: problem with tracks muting

Click the 'back to arrangement' button in the top toolbar. You can't run an arrangement and then fiddle with session view without it changing the arrangement, if you didnt have global record on. hence Live assumes you don't want to play the arrangement yas it is anymore, greys out the arrangement tr...

Noted you have posted this twice without response Dan. I think it cannot be done but I didnt want to post until I checked in t'studio and I haven't had a chance to do that. There could be workarounds such as racking 8 impulses each with one of the samples in and then mapping to the chain selector so...
