Re: Guitar Track needs comments :-)

It's a nice idea but clearly still at a basic stage, looking forward to hearing how it progresses.

Re: Post your set up and your sexy cat...

20hz?? On a cone that small? Madness. the cones inside your headphone are much smaller.. theese speakers are somekind of dancefloor version of auratones.. when you can get them loud and deep your mix is clean ... and in the highs its all phase alligned because ther are no crossovers involved.. they...

Re: Which one is best for pop/rock?

I have to disagree on that, I have plenty of good feedback on my mixes and tracks I make in Live. I don't say it isn't harder work but its certainly better than Garageband. But you can have pro results from any of the mentioned DAWS. Its subjective though in the sense that it is about your workflow,...

Re: Which one is best for pop/rock?

I guess you won't be surprised to hear that you can make both pop and rock in all of those. A DAW is a DAW. The user makes the music.

I would say the biggest drawback about Live is the absence of a comping tool for vox and guitar work. I'd really like that, but for everything else? Live works fine.

APC40+APC20 Questions for users.

Decided to expand my fader count, mixing on just the 40 is a pain, 16 would be much better. Queries though: If you run both the 20 and the 40 at the same time does the master fader on the 20 become a track fader or does it control the master as well? I assume it can be midi-mapped anyway but does it...

Re: XLR Male Audio Cables To PC

Yeah, you need to work out what you want to connect, mics, guitars, external midi kit etc. you already mentioned the mixer for example.

So budget and input output requirements are the key to narrowing down what you might fancy.

Re: using swing

'Groove' you mean? In your clip view you have the groove selector which opens up the groove pool for you to select one. Select one and then playand learn what each parameter does, works pretty nicely actually. The on that throws is the random setting because it is easy to imagioe that it adds humani...

Re: Start playing clip a bit earlier

You could put 'cuz' in its own clip in the previous scene so that it plays the bar before the new scene which then comes in following 'cuz' with 'my body aches'. If you like though, record it into arrange view as a two bar clip with 'Cuz' falling on beat four of bar one and the rest inside bar 2 thr...

Re: pitched down vocals in key to track?

I think pitching vocals down by 7 semi-tones is going to sound bad even using Lives complex algo. But if thats the sound you are after then no problem. I suppose it depends if you are after an effect, so that the vox sound deliberately pitched down in a wierd artefacty kind of way, or if you are try...

Re: First post, couple of questions that I can't find answers to

I don't think that is the issue as the OP says the midi clip already has the notes in. I have noticed that occaisionally some instrument racks simply don't output audio. Unfortunately I am generally in too much of a hurry and simply swap out the rack to another instrument rack without noting which o...
