ScarKord EP's - download for Free!

Hi all, Should have put these up here ages ago, but I released a couple of EP's last year then subsequently fractured my elbow and was out of action for the best part of three months! Consequently, I didn't give these the promotion they needed, but, better late than never! Throwing Stones EP http://...

Re: Octop4d - Full Demo Video now Online!

Hi Darren, Just been playing with Octop4d - I love it!!! It's taken my launchpad from being a somewhat unnecessary impulse buy into something genuinely useful. I'd always wondered why I bought it (the launchpad) as I already had the APC40, but now I know why ;) Excellent work and well worth the mone...

Again, FM synth's are great for those cold 'icy' string and pad parts.

Here's a very quick demo of a couple of FM8 presets along with some typical 909 beats...

Re: Detroit Techno on Ableton - Need your help/How to

what about the bassline? I guess it's better to use a TB-303 (as bassline not lead of course) A lot classic Detroit techno actually uses FM synthesis for it's basslines rather than 303's, particularly some of the better known Derrick May / Rhythm is Rhythm stuff which I think used the Yamaha DX-100...

Re: NEW users get 1 Partner instrument 4 free?! What about us?!!

But please understand that statements like "Live is unstable for a majority of users" are simply false. They're based entirely on speculation and extrapolation from forum posts, and this is not reliable data. Totally agree Dennis. Yes, I'm sure some people are having problems, but every Live 8 user...

Re: APC40 users - how much do you use the crossfader?

Used it in my live set last night actually. I had all the drum / percussion channels mapped to A, but nothing mapped to B (although I like the ideas other people have posted around beat juggling - will definitely investigate that!). It gave me a quick 'n dirty way to drop out all the beats and leave...

Re: Performers wanted. London Wednesday 30th. H.A Electronic

Hi David, I'd definitely be interested. Have been thinking of taking the plunge and playing live for some time now and having been along to Hidden Away electronic a couple of months back, think it could be a great place to do my first performance. Here's a link to some of my music. http://www.reverb...

Re: APC20 vs Launchpad

Not a massive saving, but those in the UK can get the APC40 a bit cheaper if you buy it from Thomman.

Make sure you ask for a UK PSU though, otherwise they might send you an EU one ;)

Re: MINI LAPTOPS - any one using ???

Im really interested in the possibility of running Ableton on one of these little machines (was looking at the new Dell mini 10) as I'm going travelling soon for 6 months and want to be able to sketch out some music. If it can't do ableton (on XP) I guess the key is to use old software like Acid, d...

Re: Dell Mini 10v (or other netbooks) and Live Looper?

I've got a Dell Mini 9 running Ableton Live 8 on Windows XP and using the built in sound card with ASIO4ALL. Doesn't have a lot of power, but it's absolutely fine for putting together some custom drum racks and programming beats on the train to work. It comfortably runs three or four concurrent loop...
