Re: Know Your Limitations

I also thought that collision was a load of shite when it first came out and by limiting myself to live suite I have now think that it is fantastic. Great organic sound that in a mix can sound very unique and almost sampled.

Re: Know Your Limitations

Great read as usual mate. Much better then most of the blurb in mags. You have a real insight into production. I agree with this 1000%. I only have a few bits now and forced myself to go back to basics and think a lot more. Try to imagine what sort of sound I want and get as close to it from what I ...

Re: Holy...Focusrite VRM Box

Interesting. I wonder how it works? Does it send an amount of the R output to the L even when they panned the other way and so on and mix the depth of the sounds on the fly? Thats the only way that both ears could hear both the L and R at the same time. If that does work and creates a perfect virtua...

The most important thing for Live 9

Make it Mac only or for PC's that support core audio  PCs are the spawn of the devil for music making and music forums. I get cracks and pops... Live crashes as I am defraging my computer.... The 50 spambots crashed my live set... I have no other problems with my PC (it runs my browser without...

Re: Why my CPU gets constantly frozen??

Try this link: http://www.native-instruments.com/knowledge/questions/354/Windows+Vista+Tuning+Tips+for+audio+processing It solves a lot of issues. I would start with energy settings No.9 on the list. I had simular issues before and the processor settings of min 100% max 100% worked for me. Worth a t...

Re: Noise From Speakers When Scrolling iMac

I had the exact same problem. Its a ground loop. Pain in the arse. I ended up disconnecting the earth from an extension lead and plugging only the monitors into it. A very common issue with the imac for some reason. What I did was dangerous by the way and there are other solutions on the net. Do a s...

Re: IK Multimedia + Ableton Live = Crashfest..

By the way if you google sampletank crashing logic or cubase you get the same issues. I had a load of issues with IK plugs in the past. I sold them on in the end.

Frustrating as they are good plugins.

Re: Using Akai MPD32 Live

It works great with live. Sliders default to mixer and 8 pots are mapped to the instrument or effects rack. Pads are mapped to drum rack. I find the pads a little thin and hard but there is an upgrade kit available(have not tried that).

Also stay away from headphone amps when mixing. The output on the saffire is grand and already amplified.

Re: Noob assistance - Audio interfaces

I actually prefer the Saffire interfaces. I find them to be rock steady with low latency. Saffire pro is good value.
