Ironically, if you get a Firewire drive larger than 32 GB (which is a given these days) and you're using Windows 2000 or XP, you'll need to use a Macintosh to format it as one partition! The format tool in Windows 2K/XP has a volume size limit of 32 GB, while it will happily read volumes of size 127...

HALion 3 works within Live 4 and opens AKAI samples. As to whether it is the best for your needs, I can't answer that; but it will certainly do the job. It needs lots of CPU and doesn't have the sound design features of Kontakt. But it makes up for it with a really excellent set of string libraries....

I think many others may find this interesting how the US Gov't can hide important facts from the American people. what's factual in this? several problems: • scale of plane in key does not match the scale presented within the timelapse photo footage • when you hear a missle fly, you are hearing its...

a remix, of a band i've recently joined, that i did on the beta. http://mattr.customer.netspace.net.au//afraidtomerge_am_remix.mp3 i'll put some of my own project up soon. -am I really like the way it ends, without resolution, just fade out the melody and leave the percussive bits behind. Nice. -Alex

With the new MIDI features I'm finding Live and Numerology work together very comfortably on my PB G4 800 MHz, and I'm much less reliant on CPU-demanding effects to make dynamic arrangements. Consider that with a PC you're not just buying a new platform but new software to use on it. That can be a c...

I'm loyal to my Doepfer Pocket Dial. Metal casing, but with a wallwart power supply. Still, solid as a rock and a highly adaptable tool.
