Re: MIDI Starts at C0. Why does Ableton start at C-2?

Until now, I haven't really considered this question, but here's why I have. OnSong on the iPad maps all MIDI values as they are supposed to be mapped. The lowest octave is 0, the highest is 10. C0 is the lowest possible note value. In Ableton Live, my key range goes from C -2 through G8. That mean...

Re: Ableton 10 is obsolet!

I'm already on the latest official release of Max, unless there's a beta of that as well? Live 10 ships with Max 8 built-in. C74 is only at 7.3 officially. I had to download the latest Max build manually in order to be able to use the object in Max and I already have the 10 beta installed. You're s...

Re: Which devices with Max For Live separate license?

The content is going to be the same, because the content really isn’t what you’re paying for in the first place.

I can. From my past invoices it looks like both the Live 7 Suite and Live 8 Suite upgrades were about $10 more than what I'm paying for the upgrade from Live 9 Suite to Live 10 Suite.

Re: Sure, beta testing seems all glamorous now ...

I’m still trying to figure out the beta site so I can post a bug report. It’s a little confusing and keeps logging me out all the time.

The only big bug I’ve hit so far is my APC40 Mk 1 not picking up the blue hand mappings on any M4L devices.

Yeah, someone’s getting “off the rails” confused with “off the hook” or “off the chain.”

“Off the rails” = not good

Re: 10 is announced!

The multi-channel M4L feature is worth the upgrade alone for me. I'm actually going to start using Live again after laying off of it for a couple of years.

When they release the info on how to route signals internally through the API things are going to get really crazy.

Re: Live 10 surround Panner ?

As far as how the multichannel routing feature works in M4L, there are two different ways to use it. Both of them require to define the number of inputs / outputs in the Max device's plugin~ / plugout~ objects, e.g. 'plugin~ 1 2 3 4' gives you the regular stereo input as well as a second pair of in...

I already know what I think of it and I'm not even in the beta yet.

I like it because it's a direct lift from Logic. Same command.

Re: Live 10 upgrade path

Mostly we're not talking huge amounts of savings. Even Logic is $200 for every upgrade, my other DAW is Digital Performer and it's $199. Live Suite is expensive at $299, but regularly is on sale at about $240, and like people have mentioned Ableton do not upgrade to a full point version as often as...

It doesn't just look good, it is good. Best value music software on the market. Of course someone will bring up the price of a Mac as the "true" price for Logic.

Re: Live 10 upgrade path

I'm detecting a somewhat patronizing tone in your response. Hopefully I am wrong on that? Just following your lead, friend. To clarify.....the starting point was/is Live 9 intro. The middle ground is Live 9 Suite. The end point is Live 10 Suite As an existing customer I may complete a two stage two ...
