What I find fascinating is how there are in fact levels of music snobbery. Ironically, Many of those who consider themselves "music snobs" (read: like music with "thought put into it") because they don't like "pop music" (read: Top 40) are considered "simpletons" (read: haven't intensely studied all...

hehe I think that by that explanation, I'm totally wrong to say that a tritone = dim5 You're not. A tritone can be a diminished 5th or an augmented 4th. The name just refers to the interval that spans three whole steps, thus three 'tones' = tritone. Whether a tritone is identified as a d5 or an A4 ...

+1 for Izotope RX for this kind of work. It costs money of course but it's the quickest way to do these kinds of things. Once you know how to use the 'Spectral Repair' parameter you will be amazed with what you can remove from a bad recording. For the metronome I would use the Declicker and Spectral...

I'll do one better...I rode my bike TO the Walmart. Then since there are no bike racks, I walked in the store with my bike while shopping. You should see how Walmart shoppers look at you when you're walking around the store with your bike. Even more interesting is the reaction of store "security".....

You must live around the yuppies.

I get this when I go to the Wal-Mart near my girlfriend's place. But I'm white.

Then what causes the distortion that the first article talks about? The part he talked about where the master fader is way down and all the tracks are at 0db.

Of course if there's a legal problem I'd just forget it. But does anyone know if earlier versions had the files loose and not packed in a .alp? I'm not home yet so I can't check my v4-6 discs.

GUI Graphics Files

I'm working on making guis for some toys I've made in Max and I'd really like them to have a similar look to Live. I thought the graphics files could be reached in the older versions but now they seem to held in .alp files? Anyone know 1) how I can get the graphics files and 2) if there are legal is...

...for some strange reason I have "Alouette" running on a constant loop in my mind... Try sending a "0" message to the [sfplay~]. That should turn it off. 8) Bah, only newbs use sfplay~! Big boys send [clear] to [buffer~] ;) And I am certainly a Max newb. Only been using it for a year and a half. :)
