can you make impulse, simpler, or sampler monophonic?

A lot of classic sampling clicks the way it does cause each new sample immediately cuts off the previous one playing. Is there an option in impulse or Abletons other "samplers" to turn monophonic?

Re: Slicing beats, can grid adapt to the groove?

Ok, thanks. Was wondering if there was a usable autowarp function when slicing. This will have to do for now.

Slicing beats, can grid adapt to the groove?

I'm somewhat new to slicing samples and beats with ableton. My question is, a lot of times with an automatic slicing algorythm, the beats have space before or after them. I know you can go in and clean up each sample, but I was wondering if theres a function that really slices to transients? I'm new...

Re: Installing from 7 Suite to 8 regular + max 4 live

Whatup Dennis, This is David Bitterman (dbit) from Detroit. I believe our paths have crossed on several occassions. Anyhow, I just want to make sure that I'll still have all of my Live 7 suite content, so that nothing that I already own will be limited in any way.

Installing from 7 Suite to 8 regular + max 4 live

Trying to figure out what the best route to go is. I was underwhelmed with many suite options in 7 suite, and I just want to upgrade the core application + max 4 live. Does the core application still come with new sounds, presets, etc? Should I d/l the upgrade to live 8, rather than suite? Any advic...

Is VR 8 + Max ready?

I've been waiting for Max 4 Live to upgrade to Live 8, but I have to admit being swamped in a lot of projects, so rather then do an extensive research at this point in time (since I'd like to purchase in a day or two...), point blank, is live 8 + max ready? I mean, I understand transitional bugs and...

Re: Darkest Sounds...The Darker The Better

Here's a dark piece I did using some Max/MSP patches. I was told by some friends that it's quite creepy, although its got some clicks n pops due to the patches I was using: http://d7048.u23.greymatterhosting.com/myPlist/dbit_darkestBlood.mp3 As for sounds, I'm not sure offhand, but I know Richard De...

Re: Lowering the master level to avoid clipping...

As I understood it the software still has a summing bus that adds the channels together before going through the master channel, and if you're pegging red on the master at 0db then you're also overloading the mix summing bus, regardless of whether or not you turn the master down. I learned this from...

Re: Anyone tried the new crappy novation automap 3.1 update?

I haven't updated since automap 2 as I don't use my sl all that time. So 3 is still a totally stable update, just 3.1 is still shaky? I may update this week.

Re: The only way to beat a hangover..

It's been years since I've been drinking, although I still find mischievous ways to have fun, but when I was drinking the most, I swear I found an amazing hangover cure, IF you can manage to pull it all off when you're drunk, which means remembering sh*t, or preferably preparing beforehand. Here's w...

Re: Who's got breakbeat tracks....

Usually I'm producing either techno or hip hop stuff, but I definitely go off the map in different directions to satisfy myself creatively. These tracks aren't traditional break beat tracks but I thought I'd share anyways. The first one is more kind of space rock-ish. I did all the guitar myself as ...

Does anybody from Ableton still monitor and respond on these forums or is it rare these days?
