Splice for project backups 2020

I have been using mega for that, with 50 gigs and seamless operation. Still, if splice works well, I would gladly use mega for backing up audiobooks. What are your experiences with Splice cloud for backing up Ableton projects? Are there any catches or problems at all? I would not be buying anything ...

Ctrl+Shift& click while recording to bypass recording a parameter

When recording, every knob you move gets recorded, which is essentially, okay. But sometimes you just want to mute a secondary track to get a better feel of what is in focus, and this is when it would be great to mute this without it getting recorded so that you do not have to fix that (remove autom...

Re: Proper panic button

I don't know a cpu-intense windows app which freezes but can handle that this way - I mean drops all the tools before it faints of strain. If you think this way, a spacebar does stop playback, but not once the daw stops responding, so you would not work around that with a different key. I think midi...

Re: Live 11 is coming !!!

By the overall spirit in posts, dummy update.

Still, a review of the features, this is a true upgrade packed with lots of useful functionality.
Really cool! Thanks Ableton Team ^^

SSD may benefit from windows configuring!

There is something I found having had my crucial mx300 ssd for several years now, always with out-of-the-box settings. On windows 7, I installed the Crucial storage executive application, and even before updating the firmware, I did some tweaks recommended by the app. There might be no rules, but I ...

Edit while recording ^^

There are sometimes obvious mistakes such as key pressed too fast, knob recorded with initial position being not too good - and you could easily as you play. even better, for such duos as Infekted - I am sure they would at least consider ableton also a tool of trade as one of them might manically pl...

groove on arps?

Do you export arpeggiated bassline to apply groove matching that of the drums?
I think this question applies to any arpeggiated synths.

Sounds good. Can you share your default ableton project? I presume you have that implemented.

Parameter tweaking to add (configure) it automatically

There is this rather old now feature in ableton that in some instruments you need to add vst(i) parameters by opening the ableton's panel for the instrument or effect, click configure and move the knobs you think you will need as you improvise and want to get this recorded. This is an understandable...

Re: MORE COLORS !

I totally agree. Also, if they could be grouped, so that every new track and new clip could 'inherit' from the just-selected track/clip, with a slight colour variation.

You don't want to spend time 'colouring' your matrix in your uptime.

future-proof your side-chain setting: Group the track you side-chain to and sidechain to the group

There have been many times that the track I would sidechain to would be turned to audio or otherwise replaced. If the track disappears, the sidechain link in all the effects on the 'dependant' tracks get reset. There is a quick workaround. At any point if you want to side-chain to a track, group it ...

That's a rather dumb reply from a disinterested user. Just go back to your song.

Re: Turn off indexing

Those of you guy who find closing indexing helps, there is a workaround: using a hotkey tool such as autohotkey (windows, free).
It could go like this
a key combination to start ableton, wait for a few seconds and kill the indexing process.
I think you could make it idle instead.
