Re: Proper panic button

OK, thanks. Three more things, then.

1. Key shortcut and midi assignable.
2. all effects buffers to zero so that when you restore DSP all are silent and not processing anything.
3. playback to stop.

Re: Why no 5Hz filtering

The topic is not clear to me either.

My headphones cheat, you think?

I wonder how that is technically possible.
Anyone?

Why no 5Hz filtering

I have found out that my headphones can reproduce sound with discernable hints of beat passing through melda's mbandpass filter set to Lowpass, 20 Hz, slope 120, very low q. It also turns out that changing to high-pass with the same parameters improves definition of my drum track but doubling the fi...

COntrol tail of freeze

I have found out that between two clips minutes apart in a sequencer track the whole tail of dead silence after the first one has been frozen, too. Is there a smart way to tell ableton not to freeze a space between clips? There are two peculiarities here: 1. if a clip is not followed, it does not le...

Re: Audio latency in heavy sessions

My Thinkpad x230 handles 15-20 tracks full of all sorts of stuff easily until a threshold is reached, which is when it is rather difficult to recover the snappiness of the project by a single freeze. Sluggish effect on return bus can be a problem, although sometimes restarting the project does make ...

Mixer track volume to be included when copy/pasting MIDI clip to arrangement

Mouse or record mixer track volume in a midi clip. Now there is a discrepancy in how that fetches to arrangement depending on whether you record or copy clip manually. 1. When recording, the volume change is, obviously, transferred. 2. when copying and pasting, it is not. Unless there is a reason fo...

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge

Worked! Many thanks, filtersweep. Names are not showing until you reopen the project. Still very useful and with much potential: 1) faulty effect might be marked in red 2) Whole trees of effects pulled be viewed for redundancies and overload 3) presence and intensity audio signal per effect (little ...

Re: Focus to stay on note start when moving note to the right

Yes, because you otherwise do not know where the note is being positioned. You do when you move the note to the left - the view does scroll to the note start.

Consolidate Time to a New Scene could re-use samples

Would it not make sense for this option to actually re-use the samples as they are rather than to bounce each instance of them to a dedicated sample?

The present method generates lots of new stuff, often the same loops re-emerge in numerous instances, and it takes longer.

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge

I LOVE this one: edit the options.txt file in Ableton's library folder. Add this: -ShowDeviceSlots Now, in Session view, using a new icon in the bottom right you'll be able to display each tracks effects right in mixer view. Very useful! http://www.resoundsound.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Ableto...

Re: Focus to stay on note start when moving note to the right

Yes, midi. When in piano roll, create a midi note and then zoom in until it is no longer contained in the screen. Select the note and use the cursor key to move the note 1) To the left 2) to the right As described above, moving note to the right, you cannot see its beginning. My point is that it is ...

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge

You don't have to restart Live to connect Push. Just plug into a working Live, and all is ready.
