Re: A strictly English speaker in Europe

I checked out the distances and it looks like a fairly forward straight vertical north movement. I’ve always wanted to check out Prague but I more chucked it in because it looks like a center stop between Vienna and Berlin. Can I assume this can all be done by train? No problem... http://i.imgur.co...

Re: A strictly English speaker in Europe

All four are touristy cities and in the city centres you will have no problem getting by with only English. Indeed in the touristy parts here in Berlin there are some places that *only* speak English, not German.

AU doesn't support MIDI out. Try the VST one for Spiral.

Hi,

Are you sure you loaded the Reaktor VST and not the Reaktor AU?

Re: Question about I/O for Synths/Soundcard

Depends on whether you want to use all your synths at the same time. If not, then you might be fine adding a mixer with multiple bus outputs - i.e. have all your synths connected to the mixer inputs and then use the main and bus outputs of the mixer to route a subset of them to your soundcard.

Re: ipad & ableton

Here's a recent and useful comparison between Lemur and Touchable: http://sonicbloom.net/en/touchable-2-vs ... omparison/

Relative to buying Live and an iPad, you may as well just buy them both. And TouchOSC. And my app.

Re: Limiters: how -not- to use them

I only use it on the master channel when playing live. This is primarily to ensure that after a few ales, if I accidentally set up a potentially deafening feedback fx loop, then the limiter will er... limit the damage. I never use a limiter when producing, only a compressor. Thanks for the picture o...

Re: To Ableton representatives: please, share Ableton roadmap

These days I'm inclined to think "what would they benefit from doing this?" . If they release a roadmap that says something like "we will fix the X to be more flexible and powerful, and not as bad as it is now" Such a statement acknowledges that the feature X is not all it could be. Cue rampant spe...
