You could set up a group on the track and add two chains - one wet and one dry - so that the FX is on all the time and all you do is switch between the wet and dry chain. Something like this:

I wouldn't go so far as to call ableton filthy but it's definitely dirty. But, a DAW's got workflow. Workflow goes a long way.

Hi,

Use a MIDI cable to send note messages from Live to the Roland.

Use an audio cable to get the audio back from the Roland into Live.
