Re: Which USB2.0 audio interfaces work on USB3.0 under Win7x64?
since when are usb3 ports not compatible with usb2 devices? i use a Fireface UFX connected to a usb3 express card adapter on win7 pro x64. it worked fine connected to the laptop's usb3 ports directly but with numerous usb devices plugged in, I noticed a couple glitches and the express card fixed that.

Re: Best VSTs
you guys really like to over-analyze shit.. it's pretty fucking ridiculous most of the time! just list your favorites and move on.. let the OP dig through and decide which of those he likes. no need to reply and say, well it depends on what you mean by "best". he's just looking for opinions and expe...

Re: Best VSTs
I've had quite a few that I've purchased and probably 3 times that of free plugins.. Recently I've deleted almost all of my free shit. I find them to be redundant to and lesser in the quality and stability departments than the ones I've purchased from developers like: Waves, Rob Papen, Camel Audio, ...

Re: What gear can we add to our live set up?
why not some external effects boxes? Jomox Moonwind or Sherman Filterbank or Rodec Restyler and Pioneer RMX-1000
or add a couple hardware synths and/or drum machines to do stuff more on the fly.

Re: Beginner's gear
Best advice I can give you is if you think you're really going to stick with this and you're pretty serious about it as possibly more than a hobby, don't buy cheap gear that you'll eventually want to replace with higher quality stuff. You'll just end up spending more money in the long run. I know th...

Re: Ferrofish A16 MK-II
It was more of a convenience purchase than a necessity. I've got a number of external units which I wanted to have connected at all times. I'm still running all of the ins and outs from both the UFX and the A16 into 2 Neutrik patchbays. But here's the list of external gear I have with I/O numbers to...

Re: Ferrofish A16 MK-II
Thanks for all the input on this.
You were very persuasive so I've decided to pick one of these up to complement my Fireface UFX.
I'll share my opinions of it when I get around to it... or not!

Ferrofish A16 MK-II
Anyone tried out this thing?? Looks like a great option to use with the UFX's dual ADAT i/o. The only other ADAT i/o I know of that would compare in price would be the Octopre Mk2 Dynamic and you'd have to buy two of them. http://www.ferrofish.de/index.php/en/products-en/a16mkii-en What are your pre...

Re: in what genre is most of the money?
Of course, there's a wide range of jobs, but I doubt you are asking "How do I become Hans Zimmer" (whose life is probably both well paid and also rewarding). yeah I was about to mention him, what a life he's living. If you know the answer please share. ironically, Hans Zimmer is a pirate! listen to...

Re: Patchbay advice
well thanks! so, as the patchbay i have is setup for half-normalled, i would plug all of the outs from my interface with the possible exception of the main xlr outs into the top row of my patchbay including the outs from the octopre which serves as an ad/da converter. then i would plug the ins for a...

Patchbay advice
Since I've just ordered a few new pieces of gear, I need some advice on how to hook it all up. Here's the list of gear: Fireface UFX and Neutrik patchbay Monitor Station and Monitors/Subwoofer Octopre LE Lexicon MX400 (4 in/4 out but I'm going to use the digital i/o) Korg Zero4 (intend to use as ext...
