Do you think Apple will use dogs for their next OS codenames???
I vote for "Dingo" to be first, followed by "Jackal", then maybe "Fox" and "Arctic Fox", ultimately leading to "Coyote" and "Wolf". If they need filler codenames, maybe they can use "Werewolf" and "Steppenwolf".

Re: Advice on new gear needed
After much deliberation and contemplation, I think I've decided on the Minitaur, mostly because of price and it's double-duty capability as synth and filter effects unit. Also, I'm getting the Cluster Flux but I'm still undecided on another unit. Should I go for a Midi Murf, Restyler, or spend the m...

Re: Some Monitors
most would say no.. as long as you have some sort of spectrum analyzer to see what's happening at the deep low end.

SPDIF cable questions..
Not sure if anyone can help me here but I can't stand the RME forums. Here's the deal... I have the Fireface UFX, which has an AES/EBU i/o and I want to connect it to my SPDIF i/o on my Lexicon MX400. The manual says I can switch the use a cable adapter to connect the two from my understanding and g...

Re: Some Monitors
I think you need to rethink what constitutes as "good". Bigger is not always better! You don't need a loudspeaker.. you need an accurate monitor.MrNicHoe wrote:Okay thx for the tip. The problem is, I won't be forever in this room and I want some "good" monitors...

Re: Some Monitors
I'm definitely not the expert in acoustic treatment or in what monitors would work best for that space, but I'm pretty certain that you don't need 8" monitors. I think the extended low range would be too difficult to control in your room. I'd say you should be looking at something in the 5" or 6" ra...

Re: From Zero8 to... (ZED R16, 01V96, SL 16.4.2)
Could you not do what you want with just the purchase of an interface like say the RME UFX and keep the Zero 8 as just a midi controller? Even plug the midi out of the Zero 8 into the midi in on the UFX for control of the TotalMix software.. I think that should be possible without needing firewire a...

Re: Advice on new gear needed
I'm liking the Cluster Flux just for the simple reason of being mono in but stereo out due to the chorus effect. If I were to go with either the Minitaur or the Slim Phatty, I think I would have to get the Cluster Flux.

Re: Advice on new gear needed
That would be another option but I was really looking for a desktop or rackmount module as I already have a couple of keyboard controllers and would most likely set it up for use with clips as opposed to recording with it while I play. I'd rather have both hands free to turn knobs.. ya know?
