Re: My blofeld just arrived
Also the blofeld is a pretty capable little synth, at least in my, thus far, limited experience. i figured, a mopho would compliment the blofeld sound somewhat . I don't know what use I would have for an effect bank? I've never done things that way so maybe I am missing something? so what would the...

Re: My blofeld just arrived
a blofeld and a mopho? why two synths instead of just one that has more capabilities?
or just one of those and a sherman filterbank or a couple moogerfoogers or a restyler or some other crazy effects unit?

Re: What's your favorite hardware synth?
Great discussion here as I've been eyeing a few hardware synths just because I love that hands-on feel. I've got plenty of amazing soft synths and I could use my Kore 2 controller to give me the hands-on feel but it just doesn't seem as fun as knob twiddling to find that sound you're looking for or ...

you get what you pay for... really??? so what you are saying is if you pay for a more-expensive-but-not-necessarily-better item, you will indeed get a more-expensive-but-not-necessarily-better item. that is fucking brilliant! did you come up with that all by yourself??? the guy is looking for advic...

Re: Need help selecting Sound Card to capably support Live
The first RME card you mentioned definitely needs the additional breakout box and so you would have to spend a lot more than just that price. The second has a couple of ports and some optional cables/cards to give you more connections than are just on the card alone. The Asus card is a consumer mult...

Re: Hey look, a question about laptops.
Managed to get apple computers mentioned in a thread about hp laptops. High score. I wasn't going to be that guy this time around but it was worth noting after the HP-slamming that went on early in the discussion. Here's how I see it.. The best laptops you can get for audio production are gaming la...

Re: Hey look, a question about laptops.
I think it's funny how the opinions on this forum all seem to come from past experiences.. so far in the past that you are talking about issues that every laptop manufacturer has had with at least some of their model lineups. Check out the reviews at notebookcheck.net to get a better idea of the noi...

Re: Most stable audio card for live performance
If you don't need much in the way of I/O, why not go with the RME Babyface?
By itself, it should be more than enough for live performance, and with the ADAT i/o, it would be more than enough for most project studio production work as well.

I have multiple D-Link DUB-H7 and DUB-H4 units.. They've always worked great for me on personal and work computers.

Almost all of the above...
I just like using my 3rd party plugins more. And who wouldn't with instruments and effects from Rob Papen, Camel Audio, and NI along with other effects and mastering from iZotope, Waves, and Antares.

Hard covers for gear
Aside from Decksaver, are there any other companies that make hard covers for your gear?
Specifically looking for a cover for the APC40, XioSynth 25, Korg Zero4 and A&H Zed-14.
