Re: forum members I met last night...**live footage**

Seeing those nano controllers there (how are those working out for you, btw?), and the Tone Deft suggestion about putting a controller on the guitar, I had a small revelation...I play fenders, so I was thinking a person could get an AllParts neck and the fender hardware, get a nice blank rectangular...

Re: Mapped clip start point no longer stops at 0 in L8. Danger!!

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but I mapped a knob on my controller to the "Start" section in the Sample pane, right next to the warp button. When I crank the wheel all the way to the left, the start marker stops sliding at 1.1.1. Are you mapping to something else? This is 8.0.3 I'm using.

Re: is live 8 gig safe on a macbook yet?

I'm going to roll the dice and play one with it tomorrow night. I've been using it pretty much exclusively since the 8.0.1 demo came out, and the only crashes I've had have involved one specific third-party plugin. Whatever bugs are left in it don't seem to affect actual stability at all. I've had q...

Re: Ever had Live not recognize the tempos in your scene titles?

Yeah, that's exactly what it was, specifically the goddamn loop button. I've had similar problems before, yet it surprises me every time it happens. It strikes me as kind of silly, the way the arrangement can kind of sneakily own your ass in the session view. I suggested to the support fella that it...

Ever had Live not recognize the tempos in your scene titles?

I did tonight. Very curious. I click on them, and it stays at the tempo for the previous song. It kind of progressed throughout our practice, from mildly quirky to just totally ignoring the tempo number in the scene titles. I mailed support about it, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has had any...

Re: gradually I understand alcohol less and less

I've recently gotten *back into* drinking, but I'm focusing on quality liquor and quality cocktails of the old-school variety. I find a couple of whiskey cocktails made with my favorite rye put me in a state of mind that doesn't let the fact that I'm dirt poor matter as much. And I don't find it mak...

Re: Allow me to introduce myself.

You need to listen to some Spoon. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check them out, anything in particular you recommend? Well, they've been around since the 90s, and continue to put out pretty stellar rock albums. Their early ones sounded an awful lot like the Pixies, then they picked up their own s...

Re: Allow me to introduce myself.

I first knew the stones version, but then found new found love with the version on the fist JA album. Perry just made that song come alive in ways the original does not (imho) a very cool Stones version with some famous cameos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuTiTfbfy7Q not bad for three chords. (a...

Re: The smell of the manual

The ring binding is kind of handy to keep flipped open and all, but I didn't like how the little bit of paper inside the coil was always getting gnarled up...kind of surprised I never completely mangled a page and had it fall out, as much as I've opened that manual in the past year. So anyway, I'm s...

Re: Now then, peanut butter and it's close affiliates

I do indeed like the crunchy, in fact when I put my peanut butter on toast, or preferably on "english muffins," I double-toast...drop them once and let them pop up and sit to dry out for a while, then come back and finish the toasting. It takes proper calibration to achieve this of course. Worth it.

Re: Now then, peanut butter and it's close affiliates

Yeah, I guess in a way I misspoke earlier in the thread when I said I haven't put apples on a sandwich, because apple butter is the shit. A few years ago I got some homemade stuff in a small town around here where they grow apples, and it does mingle with the peanut butter in an oh-so-special way. I...

Re: Now then, peanut butter and it's close affiliates

That's a pretty funny clip there.

UKRuss: the stuff in one jar is called Goober Grape, and I think they might also make a strawberry version or something. Never had it, because I've always been more about the peanut butter than the jelly.
