Re: another filterbank 2 thread

I've had it a few months, not very long. It's provided endless entertainment. I've actually been thinking of selling it already though, because I'm closing in on the fact that what I really want is a modular synth. I know the filterbank would still be useful, but the cash from it would make a few st...

Re: another filterbank 2 thread

I have a Mk. 2, and I can tell you, you'll pry those little switches over on the left side out of my cold dead hands. I don't pitch-track much, but the others, pretty much constant use.

That device is made of premium uncut win.

Re: Gay?

The longer I go on and keep designing things, the more convinced I am that all text design should be in either Helvetica or Futura. If you can't make perfectly interesting yet clean and useful things with those two seminal fonts, you're just not a designer. Anything from punk rock to an IRS tax form...

Re: Dang, the OP-1 is getting closer

Yeah, it's got that Mac-o-phile metrosexual appeal. Nice two-fer troll there. Congrats. Anyway, I'm on the mail list too...it's about a 1 in 45 chance of getting one I guess. Hope it's cheap if I get drawn, otherwise the non-existent money's still just going to be waiting to become eurorack ...

Re: Rainy in SF

That looks pretty handy...I was able to coordinate a map I'd saved on Google with my iPhone using this guy's service , which worked quite nicely. Google has said they're going to allow access to saved maps sooner or later, but who knows when. I tend to view deep retro cheese with reverence (for inst...

Re: Rainy in SF

Thanks for the replies...I didn't see them, because for some reason the ableton forum decided to stop mailing me even though "notify me" is checked. Anyway, we found some stuff to do. We did take a drive up north one day in a rental car and came down on Hwy 1...it was totally socked in with fog up t...

Rainy in SF

Wicked thunder woke us up. So, we've been here a week, just have the weekend left...if you're from around here, or if you frequent the city, please feel free to make one suggestion of something we must do before we leave. We may have done it already, or it may be the magical thing to finish off the ...

Re: live 8 is HUGE/problems with snow leopard

I've found snow leopard to be 99.97% excellent personally, other than a single broken printer driver. Zero other problems, noticeable improvement to teh snappy, and 11 new gigs of hard drive space. Wouldn't have tried installing it the day of a show, though. In other news, never buy a fucking ...

Re: Finally bought a PowerMac G4!!

Definitely ditch the 10.2.8 immediately...that version was the ultimate pile of turd. Even just 10.3.anything would be way, way better. If my options were either to switch back to 10.2.8 or switch to a random version of windows, I would be the world's newest MS fanboi. Running 3.1.1 for workgroups. ...

Re: Snow Leopard 10.6.1.ongoing

Anyway, I don't see what's so incredibly bad in this article...you have to go public with the software at some point, and I have to say, this is a pretty great release, giving me back 10 gigs of hard drive and making everything noticeably snappier. But it takes a while to print up the DVDs, they pro...

Re: Snow Leopard 10.6.1.ongoing

Bleeding edge, baby. I've been using it since Saturday with essentially no issues whatsoever, other than the fact that it broke my Oki printer driver...the fact that there's no replacement is most certainly Oki's fault, not apple's. When I heard that ableton didn't want me to download it, that's whe...

Re: The comedian recommendation thread. Recommend some comedians

I've known the guy who runs this label since about 1982. He seems to snag just about everyone who's currently good, unless or until comedy central get their greasy hooks into them.

there's no doubt it's a quality plug-in, and you do get three different modules with it. If money was no object, I'd definitely own everything the guy makes.

Re: Anyone, U-eh Filterscape

It's really complex and programmable, but kind of mellow. Good for adding rhythmic nuance more than vicious sweeps. I opted for buying the Uhbiks, because the Runciter filter included in that package is a big, fat envelope-controlled bastard that spits out pain (and is apparently going to get even b...

Re: I have to fart, but I'm getting a blowjob

The best thing about getting married is that the farting becomes more...enthusiastic...dramatic, if you will. Fervent flatulence without consequences.
