Re: What is going on with these crashes?

Hmm, undos and backup files corrupted is unusual.

I would do a disk check quite urgently . This sounds more like a disk about to fail IMO

Re: Live 10.1 crashes every time when trying to load a song

What if you create a new set, and drag every tracks from the offending set (from Live's Browser) in it? Its not actually the song which is the problem, because any song containign M4L will trigger the issue. TO be clear Starting Live: Live starts up perfectly as long as the template is empty. It wo...

Re: Ableton recording limit?

It's strange they dont employ the same simple solution handheld audio recorders do: just start a new wave file immediately as the last one ends. Ive got a couple of recorders and they do it gaplessly.

Re: Channel EQ or EQ8?

ChannelEQ is a very unusual move by Ableton. I can understand it for Lite users, but for everyone else it's a bit pointless. For quick and easy light/dark EQing I have a racked EQ8 preset where a single macro knob tilts the EQ toward the bass or top end. If I need to put a hard Hipass on I can quick...

Re: Chopping audio

If you want to do it automatically, the low effort version is to use beat repeat. If you want to do it manually, like I do, drop the audio into arrangment and use ctrl & e to split the clips where you want to do the edit. Each sub section then can be edited separately, reversed, pitched down, stretc...

Re: Installing Live 10.1.0 and 10.0.6 on the same computer

you wont be able to open both simultaneously because the first to open locks itself to the database, and the second to open shows a mostly empty browser but the official way to do this is to open a copy of live and navigate to the set in Browser, unfold the set in the browser, unfold the tracks and ...

just install them in different folders. When you install 10.1 it asks if you want to replace or make a new install. choose the second.

depends if you have a Push or not ( I don't) but essentially dragging a sample or clip onto a Simpler device and switching it to "Slice" mode on the left hand side

Re: Live 10.1 crashes every time when trying to load a song

The weird thing is that 10.1b22 and the released 10.1 are identical builds... Yeah. I know. It doesnt make any sense. There's obviously something I've done differently between the two. They are both on the same physical drive and are set up reasonably similar. I reset the prefs of L10.1. But there ...

Re: Grain Delay : Mapping Pitch parameter constrains to semitones

With these older devices there's unlikely to be any change. I imagine the process goes like this Customer suggests very minor but useful change to Device X Ableton Staff put it in the (big-ish) list of changes various people have suggested for Device X At an Ableton meeting somebody mentions that De...

Re: Routing multiple external or plugin synth to external effects.

This would traditionally be where the Eventide was on a send/return rather than inserts. In live that's done by putting the Eventide on a return channel using the External Effect device. If you need 100% wet effects remember to set the pre/post toggle for the send to pre. (you'll need to mute the so...

Re: Live 10.1 crashes every time when trying to load a song

I'm actually now more suspicious that the issue lies with the old Isotonik BCRXL script in some way. I think the one I have is from a transitionary period around Live 9.7 I realised that when I tested with all remotescripts active I was using one of my old BCR scripts and not the one from Isotonik. ...

Re: Live 10.1 crashes every time when trying to load a song

OK, well I've had no response from Support so far - so I'll not bother punting mails into the void and I will put my finding so far here. I had a weird feeling it was an issue between the controler scripts and the paths. Since deleting my prefs I have not reset my VST2 and VST3 custom folders. I'm s...

Re: Why does Ableton keep adding new features that no one wants?

I think it might be fairer to look at the wishlist for Live 9, as those were the wishes implemented in Live 10

I marked in green those that they implemented in L10 so far.
